2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark mahogany color with creamy beige head. Very light aroma of roasted malt. The mouthfeel is dry and dusty, with some roasted malt flavor, very light raspberry touch, light acidity: ordinary bitterness.
Not a bad beer, but just I can’t see an interest here.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2014 Dark brown, thin head. Chocolate and raspberries...sweet and malty and dessert-like. The body has this character...a bit thin but otherwise fruity and chocolatey...not bad but just needs a bit more residual sugar to pump up the body.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Deep brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is a little bit chewy with a lots of dark malts topped by sweet raspberry. There is a light tartness in front of the sweet chocolate character. It’s got a fairly strong raspberry flavour as it starts to warm up. Tastes like chocolate covered raspberries. The body is a little bit thin, but it’s not a bad beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Doc Willoughby’s in Kelowna. very dark brown almost black body with a good creamy beige head. Muted raspberry aroma with mocha roast malt undertones. Flavour has a large, artificial raspberry character. Reminds me of milkshake flavouring, or the syrups they add to gourmet coffees. Underlying beer notes take a secondary role to the raspberry. Average to medium palate. Interesting, but a bit unbalanced.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a dark amber brown. Light raspberry and roasted malt on the nose and palate. Quite uncomplex, but not too bad.
