Very dark brown with flashes of ruby and a half finger of light mocha coloured head that dies down quickly. Nose is chocolate and fruit almost like a black forest Flavour is tartness upfront with chocolate tailing closely behind. Lighton the palate with a tangy finish that is all raspberry.

The pour: a dark brown with tan head, tight lacing. The aroma: dark chocolate and raspberries form a wonderful pair that hits the nose with a bit of a sharp note. A bit of coffee and roasty malts are present as well. Some burnt notes are present. The taste: a nice dry and light body with some tartness and acidity to finish. A mellow bitterness throughout. The verdict: the porter character matches really well with some fruitiness and overall I really enjoyed this brew, quite a treat for someone who is a fan of chocolate and fruit.

Bouteille 650 ml. 5%. Couleur brune rougeâtre foncé, mousse beige. Arôme de chocolat, un peu de fruit. En bouche un peu mince, café, choco et framboises. Excellente malgré la minceur.

The only negative about this beer was the almost complete lack of aroma. Or maybe it’s just my nose that is no good. However, it did look good, with a dark reddish brown colour beneath a thin white head. Taste was very good, being very much a porter with the mandatory roasted malts and some burnt coffee as well. The icing on this cake was the raspberry influence, being just enough to let you it’s there and yet not so much as to make things too sweet. Mouthfeel was right as was the finish. Good beer.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a smal lasting creamy tan head. Aromasof roastines, dark chocolate, raspberries and light carmel. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of raspberries, roastiness and dark chocolate with a smooth lingering chocolate raspberry finish.

650 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a fairly clear, dark brown with a slight rubyish tinge and modest-sized tan head. Aroma is tart raspberry, dark chocolate and roast. Flavour is roasted malt with nice dark chocolate character, a bit of coffee and nuts and a nice tart raspberry flavour that doesn’t overpower. Body is a little lighter than expected. I enjoyed this.

I quite liked this, mostly because of the fruitiness rather than the porter. The fruitiness is straight forward, at the front of the tasting and all raspberry, but it is engaging and welcoming. The porter qualities are subtle, arguably too subtle, except for the caramel/malt qualities in the palate. There are too few roasted qualities. Still, decent drinking beer and worthy trying. Bottle bought in Toronto.

(660ml bottle) purchased at brewery creek. Pours a thin, white frothy head with opaque body. Strong coffee aroma and sour cream cheese. Flavour is gritty, cocoa and mildly raspberry. Peter says its like a sorbet. 6/3/8/4/15

Light tart raspberry undertone to the very roasty aroma. Opaque vary dark mahogany brown body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled tan head that lasts well and laces nicely. Strong roasted malt flavour up front with a nice complement of raspberry and some chocolate that linger in the follow-through. Medium body is quite dry with moderate carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle. Brewery Creek. Nov-08.
