From bottle. Aroma is Toffee, vanilla and malt. Pours reddish-brown with slight head. Big vanilla taste up front that fades fast. Sweet, light-bodied. A little thin with a watery finish. Would enjoy stronger longer lastign flavours.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear light amber with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, chocolate and some spiciness. Taste is vanilla, nuts, light chocolate, roasted malts and a nice mild bitterness on the finish. Overall a nice winter ale but a bit too artificial in the flavors.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear copper with a lasting thin white head. Aroma is vanilla, sweet chocolate, and mild spices. Flavour is vanilla, nutty, caramel, roasted malts, chocolate, and a mild bitterness. Not as overpowering as some say and from the Aroma the Flavour is more tame than one might expect.

I guess the problem with trying the clearance bin beers is theyíre all out of season. So you donít get to drink them during their intended target and there is also the possibility that theyíve gone bad.
I had been recommended this beer but Iím really not a fan. It overwhelmingly tastes like Vanilla with a hint of espresso. I had a lot of trouble tasting the underlying beer. It almost reminded me of what it would taste like if you took a bottle of Molson Canadian and dumped in an Irish coffee. Iím already not that excited about the components separately; when you add them together it doesnít make things better.
I guess I could see how it might seem alright around Christmas, but personally Iíd rather just have Baileys. Again though.. my wife liked it.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Well, I love vanilla a lot, so this beer wins me over based on the subtle (but definitely apparent!) vanilla aroma, and taste. I like the shimmery appareance as well. So nice to enjoy a winter ale with a vanilla twist.

A nice, if one dimensional, white chocolate and vanilla aroma, fairly intense, even when cold. Actually kinds of smells like frosted cherrios, or, rather, the milk left-over afterwards. Amber body with white head, some lacing. Taste is similar but less intense. Kind of gimmicky, but still enjoyable.

A hit of vanilla up front that disappears quickly. Too gimmicky? Is it their pale ale with vanilla? Iíve got 2 more in the 12 bottle taster pack. Iíll drink them no problem. Probably wonít buy this beer again.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from 330mL bottle. Clear copper brown with small off-white head. Vanilla, malt, toffee nose. Buttery vanilla cookie taste to start that transforms into mild hoppy taste. No finish. Fairly thin. Buy again? Maybe.

Light copper pour. Aroma is biscuit, along with vanilla. Light body, relatively thin, average carbonation. Flavour is lightly roasted malts with hazelnut, caramel, and vanilla. Sweet, but not overpowering. Session worthy.

Draft at Christieís. Head-to-head taste test with Rickardís Cardigan (yep). Shockingly bad. Artificial vanilla with some beer (?) thrown in. Seriously, tastes like taking weakened shots of artificial vanilla extract. A bit of malt in the beer, no bitterness... at least the vanilla fades on the finish. Maybe they added extract to the keg here, or maybe Iím just in denial that Tree could make something so ghastly. My female friend called it a "chick beer" in the most derogatory sense. If youíre a baker stay clear!
