COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Russian Imperial stout is just bursting with an abundance of character! Our biggest beer, coming in at 8.5% abv, is sure to be the new favorite of stout fans. Giant Slayer is an intense stout that presents itself with huge roasted, chocolate, and coffee malt flavors. Although well hopped, this beer is still very balanced. Giant Slayer provides a rich, full bodied drinking experience with dark hints of old world style.

Sample from a 12oz bottle. Super-dark brown but still clear color. Minimal light brown head, good lace. Dark fruit, molasses, little roasty malts. Bittersweet taste. Bigger body, good chewy texture, lighter carbonation. Not my favorite RIS, but still OK

Bottle to snifter. Looks solid; cola with no real lacing or carbonation. Smells and tastes malty with an average mouthfeel. An alright stout, but not really worthy of the RIS label.

Bottle. Black color, thick, light tan head. Aroma is rich coffee and malt. Hop bitterness comes out. Finish is a little sour.

Pours old motor oil black with a toffee colored head decent lacing. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate. Taste is bitter sweet, chocolate, coffee. Astringent finish, creamy and chewy. Over all not my style but if you are a fan of black coffee this is your beer.

gorditoabd (615) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Bottle at my dadís house in Whitehall, Mi. Pours a dark creamy color, with just the faintest hint of brown sugar colored foam. Aromas are of leather, anise, earth, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is a very nice match to the nose, with a oily-creamy mouthfeel and middling thickness. Only complaint about this brew is that it gets a little muddled at the finish, but overall is a very solid offering. Also, it is not the most "Russian" of RISs Iíve ever had. All told, though, a really nice brew.

Pours pitch black with a thin brown head. Sweet chocolatey aroma with dark fruits, bread, and a hint of alcohol. Dark fruits really take center stage in the flavor with chocolate, toast, and vanilla. It seems a bit thin for an imperial stout. The finish is clean. Itís not my favorite imperial stout, it was worth trying.

bottle. Pours dark with little to no head. Aroma is strong with coffee and chocolate, and probably rivals some of the best stouts out there. After such a great aroma I was expecting more in the flavor. Got a lot of malt in the taste, a little coffee and chocolate. It actually tastes fairly light for a RIS, and surprised it is that high of a ABV. It is a fairly easy RIS to drink, finishes clean.

Bottle. Pours a very opaque black. Darker tan head. Aroma of licorice. Flavor is black coffee. Maybe even burnt coffee. Lots of roast. Big bodied. Bitterness makes this a sipper. To me this pushed the edge of bitterness in a stout, but it didnít quite cross the line. Enjoyable, but not easy drinking.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark black with a large sized tan head. Aromas of roast, cocoa, and coffee. Tastes of roast, caramel, coffee, some dark fruits, and chocolate.
