This Russian Imperial stout is just bursting with an abundance of character! Our biggest beer, coming in at 8.5% abv, is sure to be the new favorite of stout fans. Giant Slayer is an intense stout that presents itself with huge roasted, chocolate, and coffee malt flavors. Although well hopped, this beer is still very balanced. Giant Slayer provides a rich, full bodied drinking experience with dark hints of old world style.

Bottle. Pours a very opaque black. Darker tan head. Aroma of licorice. Flavor is black coffee. Maybe even burnt coffee. Lots of roast. Big bodied. Bitterness makes this a sipper. To me this pushed the edge of bitterness in a stout, but it didn’t quite cross the line. Enjoyable, but not easy drinking.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma was of roasted malts, with a little chocolate. Flavor was more of the same. I’d have it again.

Real big taste upfront, but fades quickly, good nose, nice weight to it, real clean finish ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz.... Really good...a Starbucks Red Eye with a double shot of espresso is the flavor. Black, oily, roasty goodness. Another reason to love Michigan in January.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with mikem409. Pours black with a moderate, slightly fizzy light brown head that is gone before the first quarter of the glass and leaves light lace. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt with notes of chocolate and just a bit of dark fruit. The flavor is similar with lots of roasted malt along with some chocolate and just a bit of dark fruit. Full bodied. No problems.

12 oz bottle. It pours pretty much the qiuntessinial way for a RIs Thick, inky black body with a huge fomay tan head that sticks forever before receding to some nice thick-walled style lacing. The smell is pretty good. It is roasty, it reminds me of a baltic porter in a way, or rather an imperial baltic porter. Not in the yeast but in the overall cocoa, raoastinees, and caramel levels. The flavor is pretty good. Just what I am looking for in a RIS, not too much cloying sweetness, waves of roasted malt flavors. Think abyss without all the additives.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Inky dark brew with small head. Aroma of strong roasted coffee, smells like the pot was left on the burner a little too long. Taste is sweet malts at the start, transitioning to burnt coffee with lingering sweetness still in the background. Finish has a bit of sour hops that partially offsets the sweet, but ends with a sour burnt note. A heavy brew with a thick palate. The sour / burnt coffee tastes are a little unpleasant, A little too harsh in flavor for my taste, but not a bad brew.

Big black oily stout. Slight smoke. Coffee and roast. Not bad at all. Bit of thickness to it.

Pours pitch black with a medium dark mocha head...looks heavy. Aroma has dark fruit, burnt toffee, coffee...milky. flavor has coffee, dark chocolate, and some dark fruits...very roasty...fairly muddled. Mouthfeel is medium/full but not as heavy as expected...finish is roasty with chocolate.
