Solid Russian Imperial Stout. Dark, smooth, with hints of chocolate, roast, coffee and some burnt toast. A real winner.

Pours a nice dark color with a tan foamy head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is almost fizzy with some coffee and roasted notes. Flavor is average with some roasted malt, coffee, chocolate notes and finishes with a smooth bitterness. Mouthfeel is light carbonation is average. Overall a decent beer which I probably would not buy again.

Pretty raw. I imagine that the smoothness this might gain from aging would greatly benefit this beer. Not un-enjoyable, but this is a style of beer I generally expect to enjoy immensely.

Backlogged rating: Tap, Pours a very deep brown with a oily appearance but not much head. The aroma is nice with chocolate, toffee, coffee, char, leather and some dark fruits. A touch of grassy hops as well. The taste does not match up to the nose, weak sweet malts with some fig and prunes. Very light hop profile and a bit of freezed dried coffee. The mouth feel is smooth but under carbonated. Meh, drinkable but more like a sweet stout than an Imperial.

Great head, thick and very bubbly. Black body. Aroma is chocolate and roasty. Taste is coffee and sweet. Rather sweet for a RIS. Rather fair for a RIS, but quaff able. Thanks Josh for sharing.

Smells very good. A bit on the syrupy side with the consistency. Smells of hops, pungent roast and some booze though well disguised. Colour black caramel. Pretty low carbonation. Light, sweet finish. Bottle from Megabev.
