Loon’s Summer Ale is a smooth, clean, light blonde ale. This all-malt beer is perfectly balanced to provide a clean, clear presentation without the heavy cloudiness that is often found in summer wheat-beers. The hops that were selected accentuate the light malt flavor and provide a touch of bitterness. The unique yeast and hop combination give this beer a hint of citrus aroma with a delicate Belgium flavor that provides a refreshing, thirst quenching finish - perfect on a hot summer day at a Loon’s baseball game!!

12 oz bottle purr pours a straw yellow with white head and little lacing. Aromas are very subdued, somewhat tangy finish. Not a big fan.

Courtesy of Stykzone via a trade. Poured clear light amber with a dirty white head and almost no lacing . Nose is malts with some light citrus hops. But very little hops. Light to medium body. Flavor is mild with some taste but not much .Not really much of a beer even for summer but it is drinkable.

I like how it looks but don’t care for the yeasty aroma. A little too sour for a summer ale.

12 oz. bottle picked up near Detroit. Pretty much clear golden with a head that becomes a soapy layer. Moderate carbonation is visible. A malty nose so sweet that some syrup could have been added. No hops detected. They are hinted at in the first sip. They provide just a tad of a bitter bite but not really any distinguishable flavor. I do taste a bit of lemon and that might be the most prominent flavor. Grass right behind. Malts are pale and very soft. Truth be told, there just is not a lot going on here. A low minor league beer.

Amber with minimal head. Slightly sweet, but otherwise like a much more flavorful budweiser. (this is meant in the nicest way possible)

Active pale amber with a mammoth soap sudsy slowly dissipating off-white crown. Aroma is grainy with pale malts, grassy hops and light citrus. Taste of grains, pale malt, light citrus, lemon, lighter herbs and some grassy hops. Pretty clean finish. Unobtrusive and ideal for summer I guess.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear, medium yellow brew with little head. Nice aroma of grains and lemon grass. Taste is crisp and clean - light malts at the start ending with a little bitter towards the end and a lingering faint umami finish. Quite tasty! Purchased at Harding’s Market in Kalamazoo.

Bottle. Translucent amber body, thin off-white head. Toasty nose with notes of caramel. Caramely body, toasty and grassy with a cerealy finish.

Draft at Oscar’s in Midland MI. Pours a hazy golden amber with a dissipating white head. Wheaty and fruity ale ester aroma. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation, but a little thin in texture. Flavor of pale wheat malt with some citrus notes. Yeasty finish is heavy on the clove phenols. Not bad, but could use some fine tuning as this is a tad messy. I certainly hope the incorrect use "Belgium" in the commercial description was not from the brewery. If so, huge facepalm
