1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 FatPhil (5970) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - DEC 27, 2010
500ml bottle (Drink Shop, Tallinn)
4 Huge grainy soupy aroma. Grains might be OK, but the soup is pretty messed up, it’s kind of a scotch broth/oxtaily, and as such reminds me of when I was sick and couldn’t hold down food.
2 Very pale, but quite persistent white fluffy head
3 Probably as scary as the aroma, but in a different way. This one’s dripping with swimming pool water, at least in the retronasals and immediate taste.
2- Thin, watery, and a little fizzy. Finish a little chemical.
6 Not completely lacking in flavour, but what’s there might be better absent. Thank you Heineken for producing another shit brew. Worst of all, I bet historically these guys brewed tasty baltic lagers, before the bean-counters took over.

Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a clear golden yellow color, with almost no head. Aromas of grass, corn, and a little skunk. Flavor has a nice hop taste, with grains and a crisp finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Quack-Duck (5601) - Down South, GERMANY - DEC 9, 2008
bottle. Clear yellow colour, small and quikcly diminuishing head. Some sweetish plastic and alcohol aromas. Light- to medium-bottled. Slightly malty with some shy fruit flavours and sharp and spicy hops coming in during the finish. Nearly no malt support in the finish, the hops seem rather sharp, uncontrolled and agressive in the finish. There is a flavour present, that reminds me of how a dusty unventilated room smells. Dry mouthfeel. Interesting, not well-balanced neither highly drinkable, but at least not boring.

Bottled. A light gold, very fizzy looking beer. The aroma has grassy hops and lemon notes together with cold glass. The taste is reasonable with more grassy hops and fairly creamy malts. Pretty decent for a Russian lager.
