Commercial Description:
This strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Triangle beers. The Strong Golden is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered the Golden exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. It is excellent with food as well as served by itself. Malts: Two row pale, Cara Pils, White Wheat, Accidulated malt, and Belgian Candi Sugar Hops: Magnum, Styrian Golding, and Saaz

On tap. Pours a clear, light copper with a small head. The aroma sports heavy esters with strong hints at apples and lighter spiced notes. The carbonation is medium on this and it shifts to the sticky side after a few sips. Lots of sweet fruit are here with suggestions of apples and bananas. The finish brings out a bit of wooden hoppiness. Decent.

Sampled in the presentation tent at WBF Raleigh. Pale straw color w/ medium head. Fruity bubblegum aroma. Very similar taste. Nicely balanced.

Draft in Hillsborough...not my favorite Belgian-style ale...watery in flavor and mouthfeel was flat. Pale in color, not fizzy. Also a bit sweeter than I like.
