Commercial Description:
This strong golden ale showcases a variety of the ingredients and brewing methods that help differentiate Triangle beers. The Strong Golden is fermented at a higher temperature than our other beers adding an undercurrent of fruitiness (although there is no fruit in the beer). Very lightly filtered the Golden exhibits complex mouthfeel, strong malt flavors, a spicy hop presence and soothing alcohol warmth, followed by a clean, dry finish. It is excellent with food as well as served by itself. Malts: Two row pale, Cara Pils, White Wheat, Accidulated malt, and Belgian Candi Sugar Hops: Magnum, Styrian Golding, and Saaz

On draft at new Irish pub in Durham that I forget the name of. Poured a clear darkish straw color with a thin white head. Nice sweet, clean aroma with a tad of spice. Taste is sweet as well, but not cloying nor overly syrupy in the mouth. A short, crisp finish with some light spice. Sometimes tripels from smaller brewies can taste like candy, but this is a decent effort.

On tap at Players Retreat near NC State in Raleigh. Pours golden, little too clear, small white head. Aroma is yeasty with banana. Flavor is sort of typical, yeasty, banana flavor, little spicy. Taste is a little thin. All of the punch is in the aroma. Reminds me of North Coast Pranqster without the floaties.

The aroma began with a nice caramel malt presence coupled to a spicy hop and yeast presence. The aroma was estery and fruity to accompany the spice and malt. The beer arrived crystal clear pale golden with a low lasting head which laced the glass. The flavor was fruity with a light bit of spice through the strong esters and some presence of alcohol. Caramel presence was fairly low. The flavor presented as herbal and quite nice. The finish was dry with some lasting spice into the aftertaste. The body was medium with a very low level of carbonation. Alcohol warming was notable post consumption. A good beer, but in need of a carbonation boost. Pint at VDH.

Draught at Acme in Carrboro. Pours a light golden color with a small whispy white head. Aroma is very reminiscent of a tripel, lots of cloves, a little coriander, belgian yeast. Flavor mimics the nose and mouthfeel leaves a little bit to be desired. A nice starter beer for this up and coming brewery.

Draft at Tyler’s in Durham, NC. Poured a clear golden color. Head was thin, white, and left a little lace behind. Aroma was of clove and alcohol. Slightly sweet on the tongue with subdued clove and alcohol flavors. Mouth feel was a bit thin. There was some pleasant fresh malty cereal grain at the end.

Pours a gold color with some dirty straw hints. Thin wispy head. Aromas of bread, yeast, citrus, and a bit of mustiness. Crackly pepper flavor on the tastebuds followed by a "pineapple cotton candy" feel. Alcohol lingers in the background.

WBF. Golden with no haze. The head is med /thick and white. The aroma is sour, has some must, sweet aroma. The flavor is exactly the same. Definitely Belgian but remains fairly one dimensional. Some GOP would "spice" this up.
