Can. Pours cloudy and gold with a moderate head to it. Very hoppy aroma that’s inviting. Fairly easy on the palate, which is nice. The taste isn’t as hoppy as the smell, but still decent.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 craftbeerdesign (2123) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Can. Orange pour with a huge over carbonated head. Light citrus nose with some caramel malt. Med body with citrus bitterness. Bright citrus finish with a smoked malt presence. Odd. Not really digging this one at all.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 OldGrowth (2104) - North Carolina, USA - MAY 4, 2012
Pint at Tribeca Tavern Cary. Ok aroma, sweet. Pine orange golden color, ok head and lace. Bittersweet flavor. Medium body, creamy smooth mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Eh, I know Innards this before, at Revolution in Durham IIRC and.it.was much netters than this. Will rerate someday.

Can. Glowing cloudy orange with a small fizzy white head. Nose is nice enough, fairly balanced, mainly grassy and herbal notes, some light citrus with big sweet caramel that turns kinda buttery as it warms a bit. Flavor is similarly buttery, grassy hops, caramel, bleh. The finish is bitter, bitter, bitter, butter. Poo.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JCB (3798) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 2, 2011
On tap at Revolution, Durham. Handsome pour, gleaming light orange with a moderate cloudiness in the middle of the brew that gives it an earthy look, complemented by a nice thick two-finger head. Nose is softly floral, with a kiss of sweetness and some bitters. Nice thick mouthfeel, just a hint of chalkiness (strange for an IPA), and a real smoothness that I enjoyed. Flavors were fairly unassertive but nice and bright - good to have such a fresh pour of this clean brew, and a pleasant dry finish to boot.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NCD (11) - - SEP 7, 2011
Gold pour with a thin white head. Aroma is okay. Kinda hoppy mostly cereal . I would not classify this as an IPA. NC breweries need to put together a decent IPA and stop fronting

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DukeBrewDevil (724) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2011 From my home draft. Inviting nose of fresh cut grass and lemon peel. Flavor has loads of fresh hops followed by a delightfully subtle Belgian yeast finish that hints at sourdough bread. Really good IPA, especially if you can get it fresh.
(rerate) Rated originally off a super fresh keg. Since I found this beer degraded far faster than most IPAs, from great to not so good in a month, I have to knock my score down a bit. Still good if you know it’s REALLY fresh.
