Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Bottle at Banana jam. First impy/bw Ive tried from Africa I think. The beer is dull rusty colored but the head is stable. The aroma corresponds with rusty thick old hops and ripe fruit. The balance is good--lots of malt sweetness with a good enough amount of hop. Thick burly palate. The alcohol is apparent but not harsh. It is fairly well-made although uninspired. The sweetness does overtake the hops in the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Deanso’s crappy music tasting. Poured a clear dark amber with a broken white head. The aroma is malty and zesty. The flavour is hugely malty with lots of alcoholic bitterness. A super beer.

Very good yellowish head over well-carbonated, fully hazy orange beer. Dried hops, intense barnyard odours, cattle fodder and quite some citrus. Again barnyard, sweet-bitter, grapes, dried fruit as figs, straw, dried vegetables. Long bitterness. Very slick, slight alcoholwarming; medium to well-bodied. Good one, unmistakably. (Has been raised in ABV.) Many thanks to the African traveler MV!

Slightly hazy light amber. The aroma has all the chewy, caramelly crystal malt and submissive earthy hops you’d expect from the style, along with some sketchy phenols. Intense, chewy and earthy with stacks of crystal malt and abundant alcohol. This is one of those IIPAs that drinks more like a barley wine.
