COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Tripel aged in Cognac casks.

Thrill to that full, rounded taste, that delicate touch of cognac and the smooth, bitter aftertaste of this unique gourmet beer. Trignac is a real collector’s item. Only a limited edition of Trignac is brewed.

Sold as Kasteel Trignac Cognac BA Tripel at Mellow Fellow Reno. Interesting beer for sure. Glad it was discounted, but still pretty expensive. Nice marriage of classic tripel with light floral notes, spice and fruit. The barrel is light and imparts a little booze, vanilla and wood. Prickly feel gets better as it opens.

750ml bottle (thanks suurjuust). Cloudy orange color. Small size, off-white head, stays. Sweet, caramel, fruity, alcohol, yeasty, malts, orange in aroma. Sweet, vanilla, fruity, oak, toffee in taste. Sweet malts, vanilla, oak in aftertaste. Alcohol is present. Medium carbonation. I can tell it’s Kasteel tripel. Cognac barrels add another, pleasant dimension to it. Excellent sipper.

Bottle at the NYE tasting in Beerville pub in Belgrade-Serbia, 31/12/2015. Pours cloudy orange golden color, medium gassy foam. Nose: yellow pulp fruit, a bit sweet, definitely fruity, not much balanced but truly nice. Mouth: frizzy carbo, very nice Cognac character, Belgian yeast orientation, rich, some orange zest, bit pungent peppery end. Dry finish. Really nice.

Shiny golden Kasteel tripel, with a thick, firm, pillowy head that lasts, leaving light lacing. A mild beginning, with a sudden explosion of sharp, fruity taste that warms and softens to vanilla, citrus and cognac, from the barrels it was matured in. A unique taste that is well worth investigating.
