COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kasteel Tripel aged in Cognac casks.

Thrill to that full, rounded taste, that delicate touch of cognac and the smooth, bitter aftertaste of this unique gourmet beer. Trignac is a real collectorís item. Only a limited edition of Trignac is brewed.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Gent, Belgium June 2013 consumed at home 08.07.13 in company of Casey, Traci & Loz I hadnít realised that this was a Tripel until I poured it, seems rather strange to age a Tripel in this way. Pours nice, slight haze but golden with large billowing white head. Aroma is a bit boozy with some vanilla and yeast showing. Taste for me just isnít right at all, I guess that there is a decent Tripel before this experiment but it just comes across as a boozy confusing mess. You can certainly pick up the barrel ageing in the mouth but Iím not a fan. Nice packaging, poor beer. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Zojuist batch nummer 5250 gedronken.

Hazy dark golden with a thin white cap. The nose has a white wine barrel note with trippel yeast. Big bold flavor of oak and trippel yeast and Pilsner grains and a bit of wheat and booze. Good.

Thanks to Bernt for sharing the bottle at Cafe Derat, Utrecht. Cloudy golden yellow with virtually no head. Aroma is pear, cognac, marzipan, apricot, calvados. Medium bodied, slightly syrupy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate and quite complex. Taste is calvados, butterscotch, dried apricots, cognac, dried mango, Delicious.

Shared corked & caged, 750 ml. bottle, 2012 vintage poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, orange color, with a modest, but silky layer of white head foam, and light, web-like lacing. The nose was esters as lemon & orange, with touches of yeast & spice, and a hint of sweetness. Light to medium bodied, with almost overly spritzy, champagne-like effervescence, the taste was similar notes as the aroma, but the alcohol expression was a bit too hot, imo. Followed through, but a little disappointed.
