DruncanVeasey (1741), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Jul 17, 2008 Cask, Market Tavern, Atherstone. For some obscure reason my notes refer to this brew as ’Ellie Moe’, which is indicative either of my overactive imagination, or the onset of Alzheimer’s. The beer is an enticingly hopped straw-coloured GA in the Oakham tradition lacing up beautifully, and perfumed with soapy mandarin citrus notes. Clinging biscuity afters. Just a wring of dishcloth dankness which lets it down, but still a fresh, tangy ale. Nice. bobinlondon (220), Harrow, Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Handpulled cask at JDW St. Albans. Good looking pint, pale yellow wth a proud white head. Crisp, refreshing flowery bitter. wheresthepath (253), Buckinghamshire, England Jun 19, 2008 [on cask at Nag’s Head, Reading] Deep gold with a slight, dissipating white head. Big wafts of fresh bread in the aroma and first taste promised much, but it strangely turned into a very average golden ale with weak, watery, lemon and grass flavours. Inoffensive but instantly forgettable.
maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Jun 29, 2006 Cask conditoned - handpump - Brunswick Derby. A golden coloured beer with a good dash of lemony hop in both the aroma and the taste. It’s very clean and although there are no big outstanding flavours, it’s really quite satisfying and very quaffable. Golden coloured with some sour and citrus aromas. Slightly bitter malt and hop finish.
