2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask Conditioned at Hook Norton Beer Festival 05. Straw colour with thin head, some floaters. Thin caramel flavoured beer, malty, biscuit and slightly flabby body and a perfumed hop. Unspectacular, possibly should be Fanny Ebbs?

Cask (JDW, Uxbridge, pre-RBESG2011)
Crisp fruity light aroma. Refreshing body. Very bready. Gentle light hoppy finish. Excellent golden ale that didnít need to resort to caricature in order to avoid mediocrity or even blandness.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2011 Cask conditoned - handpump - Brunswick Derby. A golden coloured beer with a good dash of lemony hop in both the aroma and the taste. Itís very clean and although there are no big outstanding flavours, itís really quite satisfying and very quaffable. Score 3.3
Subsequent rating scored 2.4. Average becomes 2.9

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask, Market Tavern, Atherstone. For some obscure reason my notes refer to this brew as íEllie Moeí, which is indicative either of my overactive imagination, or the onset of Alzheimerís. The beer is an enticingly hopped straw-coloured GA in the Oakham tradition lacing up beautifully, and perfumed with soapy mandarin citrus notes. Clinging biscuity afters. Just a wring of dishcloth dankness which lets it down, but still a fresh, tangy ale. Nice.

On gravity at the Three Tuns Beer Festival, Bristol 2/07/10. Deep gold with a slight, white head. Some citrus and floral notes battered into submission by buttery malts. Not for me.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Hazy straw in colour with a dense cream head; pleasant lemony aroma - remiding me of a good shandy; light lemon citrus flavour with a grainy body thatís not too thin; then a refreshing finish with light leafy hops and some sweetness. Rather good on a warm summerís afternoon.

Cask at the Row Barge, Guildford. Poured light amber with a minimal head and lacing that stuck to the glass forever! Not much of an aroma, but quite a bitter, refreshing taste, ideal for the summer. It tasted fine whether cold or when it eventually warmed. I can't see it winning too many awards but it was great to taste and I'd drink it again!
