Cask at the Blue Boar, Billericay, Essex. Pours a chestnut brown with a fluffy off-white head. The aroma is lightly malty with caramel. A medium soft palate although quite fizzy on the tip of the tongue. Taste is clean malt with a little dry hop. Caramel lingers while the faintest suggestion of pudding fruits, raisins and sultanas, glide over the tongue. A very dry, refreshing finish makes for a tasty, easy drinking session bitter.

Sampled this bitter in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in January 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear tawny with russet highlights and a thick creamy white head. Prickly dusty hop aroma has floral notes through it. Good lacing throughout and a rich creamy mouthfeel. Pale malts give a rich digestive teabiscuit edge. Juicy fruit notes of red apple and gooseberry give a short intensity in the mouth. Fruit notes fade to lead into a citrus burst of hop resin in the mellow aftertaste. Decent bitter with a sweet finish. An ok session ale.

Amber colour. Quite drinkable but, overall, a little thin and short of attack. Clean but lacklustre. Drinks easily though. Can't say I picked up any decomposing bodies aroma in mine. Handpump, Lord Moon of the Mall, Whitehall, London NW1.
