Commercial Description:
Cask, Seasonal, November;
Old Charlie At Cottered, in the 1920’s, a local farmer helped an old traveller by giving him his keep in return for some light work. The traveller was locally nicknamed ‘Old Charlie’ and he preferred to sleep in the old barn, rather than take up room in the farmhouse. When Charlie died, his ghost was often seen in the barn which, is unfortunately now buried beneath a new housing estate. However, the ghost of an old man has been seen shuffling around the streets of the housing estate, before vanishing into thin air. Reference: Ruth Stratton and Nicholas Connell. (2002) Haunted Hertfordshire. The Book Castle, Dunstable, Bedfordshire. P49.s

Cask handpull at Edgar Wallace, London. Chestnut/mahogany lasting bubbly beige head. Decent autumn malty beer. Tastes of fallen leaves. Malt fruits have depth and a red/dark fruits note. Good balance. Bit of lasting hop on end with sweet strawberry.

Cask @ Wenlock Arms. Pours a clear brown color with a small off-white head. Malty nutty butterscotch aroma. Sweet malty caramel flavor with some hoppy hints. Sweet malty finish.

A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock.
Mid amber brown with no head. Orangey malt aroma with slight metal and diacetyl. Almost unbrewed malt flavour. Nice grassy hops though. Dusty and dry. So so.
