Cask @ Ring O Bells, Compton Martin for Warners / Parlophone Christmas bash. Average but pleasant little number with slight bitter finish and mild fruity moments but not enough to get me ordering another.

Beese (1783) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2013
Cask at The Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear amber with a rocky white head. Aroma of berries, orange peal and caramel. Grassy hop flavours with peach and biscuity malt. Finish was bread, hop resin and dried fruit. Very good, for the style.

On the train from Hereford to Inverness, 2 litre PET bottle acquired from the brewery the previous evening, 18/10/13. 4% ABV. Clear golden amber with a moderately sized off white head that collapses to a pond and edgeing. Nose is malt forward, caramel, biscuit, sugars, light fruit notes. Taste comprises caramel malt, biscuit, fruity tang. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate, bitter notes in the finish with a subtle fruit tang. Ok malt lead bitter.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol, November 2012. Amber with a decent, off-white head. Sweetish, malty bitter with some balancing brambly hops and decent, bitter finish. Fine.

Rune (8044) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 2, 2012
Festival ale, half pint, cask at JDWs Green Man. Near clear, copper coloured body. Spotty lacing, bubbles at the surface. Modest aroma of malts and fruit. Ditto taste character in the direction of marmalade. Dry bitter ending. Standard Brit bitter (London, 05.11.2012).

Cask conditioned handpump Malt Shovel Northampton 13/11/12. An amber coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. A pleasant fruity beer with nice sweetness. A tasty sweet bitter.

BlackHaddock (3763) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 14, 2012
13th Nov 2012: hand-pulled half pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Clear amber with an off-white head that left some impressive lacing. The nose and taste were of fruity hops and semi-sweet malty molasses, the body depth fine. The blend is fairly well balanced but overall it was just a run-of-the-mill seasonal for Poppy time.

madmitch76 (15073) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2012
9th November 2012
Playhouse Spoons, Colchester. Clear amber beer, residual white head. Palate is light and crispy, semi dry. Fresh malt with traces of bubblegum and banana esters. Reasonable (for the style) hops provide bitterness and a little orange fruit. Finishes semi dry. Slightly elevated from the morass of bitters.
