Ernest (4249), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially large, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a light note of lemon zest, hint of paint.
Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation.
Surprisingly sour, as if lemon juice had been added...maybe as-designed, maybe not, but not exactly pleasant in this incarnation. Mostly nice aroma but with an undercurrent of something not quite right. Seems to have promise, maybe just not a good sample. ratman197 (2344), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, spice, light yeast and a hint of citrus. Flavors of straw, bread dough and light spice with a smooth lightly dry lightly bitter finish. FlyingSwine (127), Littleton, Colorado, USA May 3, 2008 22oz bottle poured into an English Pint. Purchased at the Wine Company (Littleton, CO)
Pours a cloudy golden color, with a thin white head. Aroma is light, yet sweet with hints of honey and citrus. Flavor is good, but unusual. Hints of lemon and some sweet honey, and slightly sour/bitter. Hops reminds of Goldings, but not quite the same bitterness. Palate is medium bodied and smooth. Overall a very refreshing ale. RSRIZZO (1017), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Apr 4, 2008 Aroma is a light corn scent. Color is bright gold with light carbonation and a very thin head. Taste is light, sweet and sour. It starts with a light/medium body that goes down with a crisp feel. Finish has a bold honey flavor that seems sweet at first but then turns a touch sour. After taste is a cider like with rubbing alcohol tones. Its not bad, better then most of there others with much better carbonation. Its like a heavy Pale Lager.
