Dark brown pour. Aroma is all coffee and chocolate. Creamy body leads to a rich coffee and chocolate flavor with light roast. Awesome!

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown, almost balck color that’s opaque with chestnut edges and a two finger frothy off white headthat has decent retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind. Nice roasty aroma with a good amount of coffee without being burnt, acrid or over the top. Smokey with hints of oatmeal, chocolate, toffee and caramel. A bit of dark fruit as well with faint spice and hops. Full bodied with a nice roasted coffee flavor. Pretty roasty up front with a strong chicory coffee presence that lingers into a dry finish. Slightly burnt/acrid without being over the top. Subtle creaminess adds fullness. Hints of chocolate, oatmeal, toffee and hazelnut with a dry finish.

tap at trinity, nitro. Pours black with nice sustaining, creamy creme / white colored head. Aroma is chocolate syrup, coffee roast. Medium bodied, smooth and creamy, very nice body. Softly bitter coffee flavor with plenty of sweet chocolate and roast, this stout is one I could come back to for sure.

(Draught during GABF week at the brewpub) clear medium brown with a creamy tan head. Nose of espresso, coffee and cream. Taste of spicy coffee, not overbearing at all, creamy, refreshing and cola like. Absolutely spot on carbonation with a delicious linger. Nice stout!

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2012 On tap @ Trinity. Very dark brown appearance with a creamy brown head. Dark chocolate malty nose with espresso and hazelnuts. Big espresso flavor over a dark chocolate maltiness. Coffee and roasted malts on the finish with some hoppy bitterness. Delicious!!

Dark brown black in color... Cloudy in color, syrupy appearance... Aroma of dark roasted coffee... Flavor is roasted malts, coffee... Pretty decent

Sampler at the brewpub. Pours a light beige head over a clear, dark brown (SRM 35) body....nose is coffee, chocolate, bit of cereal....taste is very heavy with coffee....mouth feel is slightly light, carbonation low. This is not well balanced with the coffee tones dominating too much.tasting of 8/22/12. BJCP 7/3/10/4/6

Draught at Trinity Brewing and brought home in a growler: Pours black with an average, frothy, light brown head. Aroma is heavy malt and light hops. Full bodied.

On tap at the brewpub, tasted as a flight. This is a nice Colorado offering to rival DFH’s Chicory Stout. Poured near-black with a thin bubbly tan head, aroma of (guess what?) chicory, medium-roast coffee, and roasted nuts. Flavor was a little wild for my taste, heavy on the chicory and spices, but with a nice underlying roasted malt. A little thin and watery for a stout, but overally not a bad offering at all!

A light-bodied, medium-bitter stout, with a hint of roast and a light touch of coffee that compliments the hop profile and moderate roasted character - a mild vanilla sweetness and chocolate malt in the finish - decent, but one of my least favorite here so far.
