On tap at Trinity. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Soft candied hops, sticky malt. Medium bodied, big bright bitterness right away. Long and slightly abrasive. Big and bold, pungent, malty sweet. Sticky, but the pungent quinine and grapefruit do a decent job of balancing. Well done.

Aroma of hops, citrus and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops and sweet malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sampled at GABF 2011. Hazy orange pour. Aroma of pine needles and grapefruit with a touch of mango. Surprisingly well-balanced yet hop-forward with a good amount of pine and grapefruit flavor. Very good.

On tap at SAVOR 2011. Served in a goblet. Pours a nice copper color with a small, off-white head and some average lacing on the way down. Spotty with a thin collar. The nose carries a good amount of bourbon and oak. Light tannin and wood. Not much hop character. The flavor is all bourbon and oak with a bit of vanillin. Not bad, but the hop character is pretty much gone, other than the bitterness in the finish. Medium body and a bit of sweetness with light carbonation. Interesting concept; fairly well executed. Draft at SAVOR. Poured a dark golden/amber color. Aroma was pine, strong citrus notes, caramel, grassy hops. Flavor was sweet, citrus, caramel notes, piney hops, oh so hoppy! The alcohol content is surprisingly well masked for such a high ABV. This was about as perfect of an Imperial IPA as I can think of. Next year guys?

GABF 2010, somewhat dirty looking golden pour, BIG hop driven bitterness. sweet malts cut it just right so the hops are not too overpowering. boozy but it the right way. seek this one out hopheads
