3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Unnumbered bottle thanks to Alemax. Pours a ruby brown with small, off-white head. Almost no lacing. Aroma is sweet and fruity, plum, spice, mildly herbal, belgian yeast and slight alcohol. Flavor is again very sweet, strong fruit, plum, peach, with a caramelized malt, mildly spicy and herbal finish. Really opens up as it warms, strong spice and herbal. Alcohol is well masked. Moderate carbonation, medium body, and mildly dry finish. Interesting, sweet, fruity and herbal. Pleasantly surprised.

Bottled. Dark orange brown pour with a yam head. Roasted aroma, quite malty a little fruity with some yeast too. The taste is pretty full bodied, caramelized malt and little taste of alcohol. Light notes of cumin, and pretty fruity. Finished quite wet. Overall a great saison.

on tap at brewery as part of a sampler set; they say they change this each month so I doubt this is in the right spot; had on 7/1 at brewery. I liked it but it was the least like saison for a saison that I have ever drank. honey amber pour; slight medicinal and back end and strongest saision ever

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Oskar Blues HMLS. Clear dark brown with a faint spotty light-beige head. Aroma was lovely with a nutty hazelnut tone, with dusty hay, and a sweet hoppy grassy tone. Flavor was biscuity and sweet-nutty and grassy, with some Saison maltiness and a dusty barn funkiness. Sweet and funky.

bottle courtesy of doodler, thanks a ton man! pours a dark murky brown with a very minimal offwhite head, a skim with some larger pour bubbles. aroma is very earthy and spicey, as this beer is all around. sasparilla, clove, cinnamon and a subtle mutyness all come through in a nice way. very interesting beer, very tasty, and the abv is very well hidden. there is a raisin bread malt backdropand a spicy surge of hot sweetness. good stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Grabbed some day after the release - tap only at Trinity. Pours a murky dark brown with a tiny head. Not much carbonation overall and tasted pretty light for such a dark-bodied brew, Funky saison nose with nutmeg and allspice. Banana flavors and somewhat sweet up front.. Has some dark fruits and caramel in the finish. 12% ABV. sneaks up on you after a glass or two. Went terrific with a basket of deep fried bacon and sweet potato fries (as recommended by the bartender)....nice call / nice brew.
