3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy gold pour - a nicely dry and tangy, almost weizen-ish saison - lots of dry spiciness, sage, lavender - moderately peppery phenols compliment the spiciness - intense but refreshing lemon and lime citrus character - lemony tanginess and a lightly funky, flinty finish - peppers add spice on the end, but no vegetal character, which is nice - very tasty.

On tap at Pikes Peak Brewing. Color is a light hazy yellow with light carbonation and a thin but tight head. Aroma is a sour corn and spice scent. Body is light with a smooth mouth feel. Flavor of citrus and spice with a bold sour feel on the end. After taste has a light bitterness and a bland feel. Overall its ok, just a little bland.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the brewpub.
Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden straw color with a half finger off white head that quickly fades leaving no lacing.
Very funky, as in odd, aroma with earhy, funky saison qualities. Hints of bready yeast, straw, light fruit and alcohol. There’s also a peppery Mexican spice character. Very odd with lots of peppers, cumin and cilantro I guess. Hints of citrus fruit underneath.
Medium bodied and not as spicy as thearoma suggests. Lots of earthy saison character as well as plenty of citrus. The earthy, odd spice comes in toward the finish but not too hot. Kind of vegetal tasting and just plain weird.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Trinity. Cloudy, light yellow appearance with a white head that disappears fairly quickly. Belgian yeasty, medium citus fruits, mild spicy peppers, and lime in the nose. Sweet, slightly sour, quite Belgian yeasty, light barnyard, orange citrusy, mild spicy peppers, light lime, and some more light misc spices. A touch of a pepper burn on the finish along with the saison characterisitics. I think the Mexican ingredients could be a little stronger.
