2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20
On tap at the brewpub. Interesting. This was definitely a Guinness replacement, but I found the body way way way too thick. I’d just had the barrel-aged Barleywine and Imperial Stout, but found this too sweet. There wasn’t a nice dry crisp roast to balance. Also, I was burping some diacetyl after this beer.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep coffee brown with a very thick and fine-bubbled tan head - very Guinness-like.strong aroma has notes of roast malt, coffee, licorice and molasses. Flavor has robust notes of good coffee, roast malt, molasses, and a snip of licorice. Velvety texture has food firmness and fizz. Get your Irish on and dive right in!

During March madness with Janie and Larry. A bit hoppy for an Irish stout. More sweet than dry. Nicely roasted though with a good deep charred wod flavor.

Tap - dark but still opaque. Has a cream aroma and a coffee taste. Way too thin for the mouthfeel.

Thick, creamy oatmeal-colored head & an intense black brew. Very mild malt nose & smooth, creamy, medium-to-heavy-bodied mouthfeel. Mildly hopped. Very drinkable. Maybe too drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and herbal hops. The taste is roasted malts and intensely herbal, almost dank, notes. Smooth, light bodied, lingering bitterness.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft pint at brewpub. Pours a clear mahogany brown under a dense nitrogenated one inch light brown head. Aroma is light roast and some dry roasted coffee. Just a light hint of hops. Flavor is light roast and coffee with a minimal hoppiness. Finish is short and leans toward being nutty in character. Mouthfeel is classic nitro feel with a little more watery body than I’d like. Overall, an average Irish Stout that caters to the Guinness crowd.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured black with a creamy brown head... no complaints here. Roasty sweet aroma. Taste is dry with a heavy roasted coffee flavor. Better body than I expected for an Irish stout. Good.
