Sampled from the bottle at the 2010 Metro March Detroit tasting. Poured a brownish red with a small off-white head. Aroma was very sour, almost a vinegar that burnt the nose. Flavor was very sour with a balsamic vinegar note and was very overwhelming.

Someone said this is the most sour beer on the planet, I didn’t believe them, it might be though. Acidic tartness on the nose, citrus peel, lemons, with hints of honey. Pours an amber red with no carbonation. Extremely sour, apple cider vinegar with tart fruit, lemon juice, warhead with out the sweetness, oh man this is sour. Extremely tart.

Huge thanks to tampabrew for a taste.
A: Pours a brownish color with amber tones showing through. The head is small and off white in color.
S: Very tart, acid, vinegar, citrus, and wood.
T: Enamel etching tartness. Light crushed sweet tarts mixed with acid. Hints of citrus, oak, and cherry.
M: Medium in body, zippy carbonation, enough acid to fill a car battery.
D: Not drinkable, but ohh soo awesome.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 That1Guy (1746) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 3, 2010
Avery Sour Ale Fest. Dug this one big time. Pretty much what I was expecting from most of the brews at the SOUR ale fest. Leathery, funky, sour, pretty awesome. Finish has some plastic, medicinal quality to it, otherwise a solid brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 pantanap (3153) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 3, 2010
sampled at FOBAB 2009. last of the day and not very descriptive from a notetaking perspective...i’ll echo andrew’s sentiments here but my palate was not in good shape at this point... pours an apple cider dark brown with a thin wispy head... flavors were extremely sour and acidic with wood and cherry notes. sourness gave way to a smidge of sweetness in the finish.

medium-pale brown body. acetobacter nose - woody, heavily oaked, some lighter brown sugar and maple notes. soft carbonation, silky and oily texture. heavy oak; chewy and bready middle, short finish. sharp and pungent vinegar in the finish. decent attempt at flemish red but lacks depth.

Sour Fest. Clear dark amber-red with non existent head. Aroma of funk, cherry, pungent booze and sour apple. Taste is very sour and puckering and has caramel and fruity notes. Lots to handle on the palate, lightly carbonated.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 27, 2010
Bottle, shared with JoeMcPhee - pours a nearly still dark amber - vinegar hits the nose first, but despite the strong sourness and acidity, there are a lot of complexities lurking underneath - some sweaty notes, cherry, subtle oak, light cheese, some spice - intense sourness in the flavor, with a lot of vinegar character (both red wine and apple cider) - it takes a while to detect anything other than this - however, once it settles in, some sweet cherry flavors, very mild oak - there is some more happening back there, but the acidity and sourness make them hard to detect - some light funk on the back end - intense - perhaps too much so, but I like it.

Bottle courtesy of TampaBrew. Pours a dark golden yellow to amber color with thin white head. Aroma is sour with notes of vinegar, overripe cherries, wood, light smoke and funk. Flavor is about the same. Medium body with a sour fruit finish.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 HOPSHUNTER (742) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 17, 2010
Bottle, courtesy of TampaBrew. Poured a dark amber with a small egg shell head. Nose is dominated by lactic vinegar with secondary notes of cherry, lemon, wood, and light funk. Wow. Medium body with ample carbonation. Flavor is intensely sour and highly acidic, with notes of cherry, wood, and grain. Finish is sour. Excellent sour and probably the most sour beer I have had thus far.
