3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, shared with JoeMcPhee - pours a nearly still dark amber - vinegar hits the nose first, but despite the strong sourness and acidity, there are a lot of complexities lurking underneath - some sweaty notes, cherry, subtle oak, light cheese, some spice - intense sourness in the flavor, with a lot of vinegar character (both red wine and apple cider) - it takes a while to detect anything other than this - however, once it settles in, some sweet cherry flavors, very mild oak - there is some more happening back there, but the acidity and sourness make them hard to detect - some light funk on the back end - intense - perhaps too much so, but I like it.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, courtesy of TampaBrew. Poured a dark amber with a small egg shell head. Nose is dominated by lactic vinegar with secondary notes of cherry, lemon, wood, and light funk. Wow. Medium body with ample carbonation. Flavor is intensely sour and highly acidic, with notes of cherry, wood, and grain. Finish is sour. Excellent sour and probably the most sour beer I have had thus far.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to whomever brought this to TPD’s Tampa Throwdown. This was a good one. Possibly the most sour and acidic beer I’ve ever had. I can feel the heartburn right away. I think the enamel on my teeth just got eaten off. This is battery acid, but oh, so tasty!

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: OCT 30, 2010 Bottle (70°)… This beer rocks!… Pours hazy and brown with little fanfare. The nose is straight-up acidic, acetic and vinous. Full-bodied with lackadaisical carbonation. Very acidic and acetic and fruity – cherries. Even at this warm temperature, the beer is still skull-fuckingly sour despite the sweet cherry component. Finishes tart and fruity. World class beer all-the-way!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
I had a few of these at FoBAB 2009, thanks to the recommendation of htsprint1’s wife. It poured a darkish amber body with little of any head. The aroma was strong with vinegar backed by sour cherries and unripe lemons, but it only hints at the face-puckering sourness in the flavor. Some folk have called this beer one dimensional, but I think they’ve mssed the fruit, hard wood, and the strangled malt, struggling for a stronger presence. This was poured from bottles at the festival, giving me a hope that I’ll be able to savor this again.
