3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of gn0sis. Pours an almost clear nutty brown with a small beige head. Tart woody nose with massive acetic acid. Medium body, sweet brown sugar and wood but the heavy acetone overpowers most. 290311

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ home. Dark burgundy red appearance with absolutely no head and little sign of carbonation. Pungent sour vinous aroma as soon as you open the bottle. Upon further inspection, itís a dark, slightly fruity, quite wild aroma. Quite sour vinous, red fruity that even gets more potent as it makes its way through your mouth. Very tangy, musty, lightly carbonated, barnyard, wild flavor. Itís so potent that it really makes it a sipper. Definitely not my cup of tea but I think sourheads could really enjoy it.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
1/15/11. Bottle shared at the Sea Bass tasting. Big yeasty dark aroma with acid and vinegar. Hugely sour vinegar and acid flavor that puckers for sure. This is like a lemon warhead... Woo.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to the kind soul that shared this at the So Long Sea Bass Tasting. After all that I have heard about this beer, I expected it to have the bugs from the Mucinex commercial come out and greet me. It actually was much more enjoyable. Pours a hazy red with an off-white head. Nose is balsalmic vinegar, slight tart cherry, acetic qualities, sweetness, and malt. Flavor resembles a Sour Red with lots of vinegar. Very enjoyable, medium bodied ale.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Thanks to forgetfu for the generous trade. Bottle numbered "408-10", barrel SB4 from 2009 & features a nice Dr.Seus-style, colorful label.
OG pours a light, hazy brown. It smells very tart and nearly burns the nostrils if you get in close enough. Mouthfeel is low and accompanied by low carbonation. Taste like a "liquid [nuclear] warhead"--straight vinegar and balsamic vinegar with an unbearable nail polish remover finish. Hits the back of your throat and doesnít let up. I could barely finish 2 oz of this beast.
I was warned about this one, but unfortunately thatís also part of the reason I wanted it!

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Brown color. Very rich and powerful aromas, complex as well. Cherry pie filling and vinegar. Flavor is sour, with more cherry and balsamic vinegar. Just a little sugar. The cherry and balsamic work very well together. This is an excellent sour. Where the Wild Beers Are, 2010.
