3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 6, 2011
Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Brewed for Trader Joe’s by Goose Island in Chicago; I’ve read it’s essentially the same as their seasonal Irish Red Ale. If true, it’s no wonder Trinity is one of TJ’s very best "cheap beers." Pours a clear, bubbly red color with medium beige head. Aromas of bread, roasted barley and just a hint of hops. Complex malty-sweet taste balanced by hops bitterness and dryness of unmalted grain. Light-body but with a full, round mouthfeel. Nice fruity ale fermentation. Extremely drinkable, the six-pack never lasts long.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maniac (3474) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 17, 2010
Bottle from Trader Joes Short Pump on 03/04/2010. Clear copper amber body with a large rocky off-white head. Sweet pale and roasted malt with a floral and earthy hop background. Earthy flavor, some tea-like character with a touch of caramel. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 rubbishystuff (1564) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2010
Has this changed recently? Did it used to be a lot more roasted tasting and smelling? Still nice stuff, however nothing to go crazy about. Serving: Bottle
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BillKismet (3000) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 4, 2010
Hazy grapefruit-amber color with a white head. Non-descript malt aroma with some cardboard notes. However, non-descript aroma contrasts with a lovely honeyed-malt flavor that leaps out. Smooth, mellifluous red ale, moderately fruity with a honeyed finish. What a bargain!
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Butters (3321) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 4, 2010
Bottle split with maniac. Pours a hazy golden amber with large white head and sticky lacing. Vegetal, swet, herbal, fake bubblegum on the tail. I think this bottle must be old. Could be alright fresh I suppose.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 nuplastikk (3286) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 14, 2009
12oz bottle. Amber-brown color with a respectable, creamy head. Spicy, sugary, rich amber malt tones. Medium bodied, with some smooth vanilla-amber malt sweetness that fades away in the watery aftertaste. Lacking a little depth in the body department, it is hard to think of this beer as anything but session schwag. That being said, it is relatively clean, fresh, and inoffensive. Unimpressive.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ben4321 (2995) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - DEC 5, 2009
Location: 12 oz bottle from Trader Joes (Short Pump), 12/5/09
Aroma: Aroma of toasted malts and grains, caramel, spice, earth
Appearance: Slightly hazy amber-orange color with an off-white head
Flavor: Medium sweet in flavor with a mild hop backing
Palate: This one drinks smoothly with a somewhat slick texture
Overall Impression:
This is a pretty decent Irish ale, it has a decent enough flavor, not too exciting or unexciting, just solid and drinkable. A nice session beer for a good price.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 drjay44 (2130) - Salida, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2009
12 oz. bottle. Picked up at Trader Joe’s. Pours a thin off white head, with attractive lacing, over a clear, coppery red (SRM 15) body.....nose is caramel, toffee, bit of cereal....taste is light slightly dry malts, finishing with a mild bitterness....mouth feel is fairly light, carbonation medium and somewhat frothy. This is not a favorite style, but this does meet the criteria quite well.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 chicagodri (1683) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2009
Another 6 pack picked up from Trader Joe’s. Pours amber with a decent size off white head. Aroma is heavy malt and caramel with just a little bit of hops. Decent flavor, not a bad beer beer, but nothing amazing.
