muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Mar 9, 2003 Near black, thick brown head, leaves a solid sugary trail on the glass as it is consumed. Sweet malted milk aroma, huge and intense but somewhat simple. Thick syrupy body, in fact one of the thickest mouthfeels I've ever experienced, like dissolving candy on the tongue. Chocolate-espresso pudding with a dark robust bitter finish. Wonderful. Volgon (2458), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Nov 12, 2003 GIBF 2003: Black body with a light brown head, sweet malty aroma. Full syrupy body, heavy sweet flavor and ending. Everything that a good imperial stout should be. cfranz (261), Acton, Massachusetts, USA May 29, 2005 Enjoyed this beer on a bar-hopping excursion through Providence. Tasted and smellt of chocolate, smooth and creamy. CaptainCougar (4637), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 10, 2004 GABF 2004: Rich dark brown body with a thin cream-colored head. Aroma has a nice fresh hoppy balance and sweet caramel roastiness. Starts nice and sweet turning more dry toward a fresh, roasty, clean finish. A well balanced and mildly complex brew. This may very well be the best beer from Rhode Island. IMtheOptimator (1113), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Jul 4, 2005 Poured black with a creamy tan head. Sweet roasted coffee aroma. Taste is bitter roasted coffee, with a touch of dark fruit. Very balanced and drinkable.
