Brewed with a first and second ’slims’ process, a malt bill built with over 30% raw wheat, aged hops, lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces. Both kettle and FV fermented, this beer never touches oak barrels.

Bottle... Poured hazy, golden with a mild forming, retaining white head. Aroma of cracked pepper, citrus peel & juice with a hint of sulfur. Quite acidic, sour, with a strong lemon juice flavor. Earthy, cracked pepper notes came in and more sourness in the finish.

Pour is pale straw yellow with a tight creamy white head. Nose is heavy brett, dusty and cob webby, hint of funk and lacto, a bit of hay like grain with an assertive lemon. Taste is also heavy brett, less funk with a fair bit of mineral and a touch of sulfer, lacto mid palate with a stronger grassy hay grain and huge lemon juice in back that gets a bit sweet. Carbonation is extremely strong, lightly dry finish and very delicate body.

Golden coloured body with a touch of a white head. Aroma of sour grapes, hay, yeast, coriander seed and a hint of more sour scents - nice. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and sour grape flavours at first that mellow out to a more distinct earthy and grassy herbal flavour of malt and a little bit of sweet apricot and peach flavours at the finish. Aftertaste shows some of the sour qualities, but more of a refined and slightly soured golden ale more than anything else. Overall, a decent complexity, but nothing rivaling the world class sours out there. Still, great to try and well worth trying if you can find it and you like the style(s) involved! I sampled this pint on draught at Mellow Mushroom in Denver, Colorado for US$6.00 on 08-June-2014.

Samplet at Freshcraft. This brew pours a clear yellow-gold color with a thin white head that burns away quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Fruit, yeast and malt in the nose. Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, funky yeast and earthy malt. The finish is moderately tart with a lemony aftertaste. Above average overall.

Wow this stuff is ridiculously sour! Sour candy anyone? It really lacks complexity that the barrel aged ones capture. They certainly came up with a way to produce a sour very quickly, but it’s really like a berliner weiss gone crazy. It also has that sort of goze taste (faintly salty) but it’s way over the top. If you’re looking for something to make your jaw hurt, this is the one; however, I prefer something a little more "seasoned" in terms of flavor.

10 ounce pour at Colorado Plus. Dingy gold. An almost white ring. Oh yeah, funky. Lactic and big malts. Fruity and yeasty. This is really good.

On tap at Freshcraft . Pours dirty blonde with a modest off-white head and a faintly sour malt aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor that is a bit more sour than the aroma indicates. However, the overall flavor is fairly balanced across all the ingredients. Easy to drink.

Bottle thanks to Niels ! Pours a hazy pale golden yellow color with a finger plus of fizzy white foam. Nose is lemony funk, dusty barnyard must and a hint of sharp cheese. Palate follows the nose with a focused bright sourness. Good lemony funk, some layers of brett and barnyard qualities add some complexities but really this is just a good solid sour beer. Refreshing and well carbonated.

Sampled at the brewery. Hazy gold, slight white head. Grass, cherry, sweet tarts, brett, funk. Taste is super tart, super sweet....well, just like a mouthful of sweet tarts. Avoids being vinegary, and if you’re looking for mouth puckering...this is it. Personally wouldn’t want much more than the little sample I had all at once.
