We love brewing bold and intense beers, and coming off our recent gold medal for a Belgian inspired flanders we thought it was time to switch gears and go overboard with hops. Slap Your Mammy is a shocking Double IPA! Coming in at 10-10.5 % ABV this huge ale is brewed with 7 of the highest quality malts and 8 varieties of hops! On our 125 minute boil we pack in 125 IBUís, making this one of the hoppiest beers ever brewed in the world. If that not enough hops, then just wait! Unlike any of our other beers, we dry hop this one twice to pack in as much aroma as possible! A truly shocking Double IPA for all you Hopophiles!

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2013 At Boulder Strong Ale. Very good DIPA. Nose is just what I want in the style...right balance of floral, dank, and citrus. Solid malt core with mostly citrus and tropical hops in the flavor. Havenít been able to drop the money on this before, but having tasted it, itís still a bit steep, but not out of line. >>>Rerate...gonna leave the points, but tap at Ernieís Pizza-Denver. Smelled like a wet dog, tasted worse. Never had such a disparity between beers. Dirty glass?? Straight up nasty.

On tap into a snifter at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a good head. So all of the talk of blowing me away with hops, so where is it? Sure, this is kind of hoppy and itís very clean and tasty, balanced, even. There are notrs of pine, ginger and a little citrus. The finish is nice, semi dry. Itís a good beer but not stunningly hoppy.

Tap. Pours vibrant clear amber with average, fizzy white head; decent retention and some lacing. Aroma is mostly muted with notes of grassy and floral hops, biscuit and cookie malt, lemon, straw, honey, and light spice. Flavor is floral and pine hops forward with supporting toast, sweet malt, and light fruit; dry finish with a touch of bitterness. Medium body and low carbonation.

Enjoyed both on Tap and in the Bottle both from Trinity Brewing. In the 750ml bottle superior over both CO2 and Cask.
