We love brewing bold and intense beers, and coming off our recent gold medal for a Belgian inspired flanders we thought it was time to switch gears and go overboard with hops. Slap Your Mammy is a shocking Double IPA! Coming in at 10-10.5 % ABV this huge ale is brewed with 7 of the highest quality malts and 8 varieties of hops! On our 125 minute boil we pack in 125 IBUís, making this one of the hoppiest beers ever brewed in the world. If that not enough hops, then just wait! Unlike any of our other beers, we dry hop this one twice to pack in as much aroma as possible! A truly shocking Double IPA for all you Hopophiles!

shared by Andy at Dadtoberfest - tasty pale malts well balanced by pine and floral hop presence. Some fruity notes leading into a dry, resinous finish.

Sampled at dadfest dadtoberfest at the dad carnival dad pad. Pours a hazy amber body with nice lacing. Aroma is fresh citrus, bitter grapefruit, zest and light candied malt. Mouthfeel is medium with nice bitterness, mostly citric hops dominate with some booze, malt, earth and zest in the background. Nice.

Bottle at Jdadmonds Dadtoberfest tasting, courtesy of Andy. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Crisp citrus, light lemon and grapefruit. Medium bodied, big sharp grapefruit, citrus and pungent earthy hops. Long spicy citrus and long hops. Tasty.

Cask at Trinity. Bright gold and a little hazy with no head. Light sugary nose of floral hops. Taste of oranges floral hops and a little perfume. I donít like the perfume so this rates lower than most. Alcohol is toned down.

Tap at brewpub May 2012-pours clear bright orange with a rocky/soapy white head. nose is crazy tropical nose Dank as fuck-wow, lite green onion flavors of sweet dank hops yet a bit too much green onion, especially as it warmed up a bit. long finish of leafy hops with some nice tropical undertones. tone down what ever hop is giving the green onion this year and this would be fantastic.

Clear, rich honey-colored nectar. Smells awesome. Tastes bitter but is matched nicely with malty sweetness. Awesome flavors of musty hops, orange peel, cascade (?) hops, and lemon at the finish. Awesome dIPA!

On tap at Trinity. Pours clear copper with small white head. Aromas of dank hops, grapefruit, and sweet malts. Flavors of grapefruit, oranges, caramel, and sweet malts. Solid DIPA that is on the malty side, but packs enough hop bitterness to make it solid.

Very strong hop aroma. 125 IBU according to the fine lad at Tap and Handle, yet the taste does not necessarily reflect that. It has a more balanced complex flavor than some of itís counterparts that advertise an obscene IBU level. It does have the sweeter taste that goes along with being a double IPA, which also hides the fact that the beer is sitting at 10.5 abv. Overall, a very impressive beer. A must have.

Tap @ Tap n Handle Foco. Hazy, golden orange appearance with a white head. Fairly citrusy, lightly piney aroma. A bit toasty, light caramel malty, piney, somewhat bitter, earthy, citrusy flavor. Pretty good.
