3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Type: 375-ml (12.7-oz.) bottle
Glass: Karl Strauss pint glass
From: BA’s ucsbmullet
Purchased: N/A; Received it on July 23, 2014
Consumed: Aug. 8, 2014
Misc.: Wax cap
Poured an orange, slightly honey, hazy color with 1-to-2 fingers of gray (maybe khaki-white lacing). Some bubbles hanging onto the sides of the glass. Minimal lacing along the sides of the glass. Minimal retention on the top all the way down.
Smelled tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit zest, coriander, mango, peach, apricot, floral hops, tropical hops, sour tarts, Smarties and nectarine.
Taste was similar, but not quite as good as the nose. Still all those fruity flavors, notably pineapple, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, apricot, Smarties, sour tart, Sweet Tarts, coriander, Brett notes, nectarine, mango and other tropical notes.
Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, fruity, flavorful finish.
A pretty good sour/wild ale. Lots of flavors that I’m not used to. I’d love to have it again.

Bottle shared with Pinkzambia Cloudy deep orange with a small white head. Wow Ruby red grapefruit is right. Huge pithy grapefruit and tangerine aromas and flavors. Plenty of sourness but still of the citrus variety. Caramelized leaches and pineapple. Very interesting. This experiment nailed it. Nice work

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle: Cloudy gold color a white ring head. Wonderful aromas of pink grapefruit, peaches, and citrusy hops with some dry notes like wood. Extremely interesting flavor - ruby red grapefruit at your local greasy spoon diner for breakfast anyone? You do notice the hops though as well. But grapefruit is the dominating characteristic. I could drink this all day. Soothing carbonation with a great fruity hoppy finish. Although there is a hoppy finish it isn’t bitter. Tasty!

The largest thing I can say about this beer is its very surprising flavor! There is a bit of a wow factor when you take the first sip of liquid sour and hop. I would say it gets better the more you drink it. I quite enjoy it!

Bottle at Jd’s bday bash a month or so ago. Thanks Ethan for sharing. This was one of the best beers of the night in my opinion. The hops worked very well with the funkiness. I didn’t take any notes, obviously. But it was delish. And worthy of a rating.

Thanks to Marty for this.
Gorgeous intense sweet tropical sour nose. Smack the lups and dies a clean sweep of all tge relevant taste buds in the mouth. Lots of sap and,as the bottle says, zest.
Those French Oak Chardonnay barrels and that 100 IBU count work some magic.

Thanks to Ryan for this. Brett oak-aged session IPA - wtf? Pours murky, pale with offwhite head. Juicy, tropical brett galore - tangerine and grapefruit. Bitterness is minimal (100 ibu? really?). Slick texture, nice and dry. I have a hard time believing the 4.1%.
