4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JanLaursen (721) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 6, 2011
Hazy orange-golden beer with yeast sediments and a frothy, but slowly diminishing white head. Intriguing sweet fruity aromas with notes of belgian yeast, preserved red berries and candied orange peels immidiately hits your nose, once your open the bottle. Taste is complex malty sweet with lots of spicey and fruity notes. Body is medium, carbonation is average, texture is oily, finish is slightly bitter. Very wellbalanced indeed.

Hazy yellow-orange with big, foamy white head. Orange, coriander, citrus, and spice in the aroma. Sweet, somewhat acidic taste. Full of all sorts of flavours my palate can’t quite distinguish too well... I’m fairly new to the style, but this seems to accomplish what it’s going for!
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 MotherBrother (145) - Aalborg, DENMARK - OCT 4, 2011
Pour foggy yellow, with a big white head.
To be honest, it idoesn’t to anything good on the nose, however theres a lot of flavour, of both citrus, grass and other fresh fruits.
Has a bit of heat to it, and a big aftertaste.

750 ml bottle shared with friend Alex. Pours out a bright enticing golden hue and produces a thick head. Aromas of fruits yeasts and spices. Tastes light for the level of alcohol smooth and lively on the tongue. Finishes smooth with a pleasant lingering belgium yeast taste. This ay make it to my top 10 tripels.

How do they do it? I’ve been drinking my way through the beers of Belgium, and I haven’t met one like this before. It has all the balance, smoothness, long finish and full flavour I came for, with a bonus of fruit and spice sitting atop the this-is-a-superb-beer base. If the archangels came to judge the human race, I would offer them this and Trappist Rochefort, and the angels would stay on earth to drink with us.

11.2 oz. bottle thanks to Carlson. Drunk in the backcountry during sunset. Pours a pale yellow with a large white head. The aroma is apricots, lemons, light rye, and oats. The flavor is very sweet, with faint sourness in the end. The palate is light and effervescent, crisp, and refreshing, with a smooth, mellow finish. Overall, this is a subtle, very complex, and thoroughly well made beer.

Bottle 33 cl. A cloudy golden colour with a creamy off-white head. An aroma of malt, citrus and spieces. The taste is sweet and light bitter. A medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation and a long finish. A nice complex yet well balanced tripel.

A: Golden-straw colored body. Just the slightest bit of cloudiness. Massive fluffy white head which had a fairly long life and left behind nice clumps of lacing.
S: Bright lemon. Yeast, bubble gum, pear, clove, corriander, a touch of pepper and bread.
T: Richly layered. Soft fruits like pear, apple and lemon play on top of a light bready/hay body. Accented by pepper, clove and corriander. The yeast also gives off a pleasant bubble gum character (not crazy like Gumbalhead, though). Prototypical tripel flavors.
M: Smooth, medium bodied brew. Solid, clean carbonation. Just the slightest hints of booze on the palate. Semi-sweet finish with just a little lingering sugar.
D: A top notch tripel that ranks right up there with my favorite, St. Be
