Nena (957) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 12, 2011
Poured a slightly hazed gold, surging white head that falls to a nice, lasting, white foam. Peppery, spicey aroma, softly malty with sweet pit fruit and a touch of citrus zest. Sweeter than I expected and rather lemony, finishing herby with hay and more spice. This is a very lovely tripel. I opened this after having to abandon an undrinkable bottle of wine, and it was a perfect mood lifter.

Serving 330 ml. Bottle. It pours a heady light gold color with a tall white head. The nose is belgian yeast, a little anise, coriander, and a touch of sugar. The flavor is a mix of yeast, a slight grain note, a touch of licorice. Very light in body with high carbonation. A very nice Tripel.

Spab (1118) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 11, 2011
330 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits (Halifax). Pours a hazy golden yellow with moderate-sized, lasting white head. Aroma is floral and yeasty with lots of fruitiness and spice. Flavour has citric and lightly tropical fruits with some spice and a sort of spruciness. Modest bitterness in finish. Alcohol is rather subtle and carbonation is fairly fine but reasonably lively. Impressive.

Bottle. Clear yellow in appearance. Nice lively carbonation. Cheddar cheese and wheat aroma. Nice wheaty taste. A touch of spice. Very good. Goes down easy. Pleasant.
