Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Muito aromática, e notas herbáceas e cítricas inconfundíveis. Espuma densa, média carbonatação, levemente picante e retrogosto na medida (bem amargo nem doce). Álcool pouco pronunciado conferindo ótimo drinkability. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle from BePLUS, Xiamen. Pours yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of malt, spice and Belgian yeast. Sweet finish. Certainly understated compared to Westmalle. Very drinkable.

Aroma: Sour notes but also stable, earth, nettles and spices.
Appearance: A very pale straw colored beer, a white big head that leaves lacing.
Taste: Some honey sweetness, fruits and some alcohol (a sherry character).
Palate: High carbonation, smooth and easy to drink.
Overall: Sweet, but not overly, good balance.
Note: Bottle, beer tasting at de Klomp. Reviewed 2010-07-10.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2014 This triple is a great one to give to somebody who doesn’t like beer, it works almost every time... Anyway, the colour is very beautiful, golden and hazy, the texture and fizzyness are well balanced, the nose is VERY flowery, a lot of flowers and vanilla, maybe peach also... My problem with this beer is that I find it too sweet. It is good on a Sunday afternoon or as the first beer of the evening but I couldn’t drink too many, really too sweet.

Didn’t like it at all. Had to pour it in the sink after several tries. Too bitter, too alcoholic, looks like water, tastes like spirit without any complexity in the aroma nor in the taste

in risposta al coglione sotto di me che ha fatto una recensione col solo scopo di abbassare il voto.... come si fa a scrivere certe stronzate....spero che un voto "massimo" riequilibri la situazione

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2014 Top beer, bubble a bit too rough but that is personal, i shake it a little and i am fine. Taste great, color is hazy but consisent, lots of honey and spices in the nose, unique beer, the everyday beer, beside high alchool!

It smells the dessert which are basically creamy and made of rice. The 3 grains are noticeable in its aroma and taste.
