nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Feb 10, 2009 Updated: Mar 2, 2009This is one of my favorite tripels out there. Hazy golden color with a thick white head. Good tropical fruit aroma with a little sweetness, decent hoppiness. Some yeast. Taste is yeasty with sweet malt, wheat, candi sugar, and light fruits. Medium-bodied and very drinkable. eManu (170), Brussels, Belgium Feb 9, 2009 Noticed the yeast inside the bottle and know that it would be a great beer. It pours a golden orange with a nice foamy head that would quickly settle to a thin white lace head. Its aromas are malty with an orange smell. Its flavors are strong of a nice blend of orange honey and malty. A little sweet and present yeast with a good carbonation.
A very tastefull beer with lots of caracters. BMan1113VR (2755), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Feb 8, 2009 2008 750ml green bottle. Pours with a foamy to nearly fizzy white head that fades quickly over the clear burnt yellow body. Very little lace, and not really appealing compared to just about any other Tripel I have ever had. Aroma of banana esters, dry fruit, honey pear, apple, candi sugar and alcohol. Taste is sweet on the mouth with a light and smooth character. Juicy ripe pear that lingers and a bit of cotton candy, alcohol and bread in the finish. Thinnish mouthfeel and dry with lively carbonation. This beer lets down in appearance and mouthfeel, but its classic Tripel taste and aroma make up for it. Iceman82 (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 8, 2009 Pours a gorgeous light golden color, with an amazing head. As beautiful as the head was, it didn’t last at all. Aromas of clove, coriander, maybe vanilla too. Flavor is very fruity...apple, banana and pear. Awesome beer...I’ll be buying more. Justinsvt (9), Madison, Wisconsin, USA does not count Feb 6, 2009 Pours a wonderful golden color with a small foamy head. Very strong flavor. MrP00tz (13), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Feb 5, 2009 WTF, this beer gave p00tz tha hiccups. Smells like candy, and the name makes p00tz think of the best food in tha world, the veggie parm. Parmeliet, yo! Seriuosly, it’s got the fizzy flava and enough of the stank. p00tz can get wit this one. Dervock (178), Emu plains, Australia Feb 5, 2009 Pours a golden marmalade with a large head. Quite well carbonated, found the same as Nathan, head didn’t last long enough.
Fresh clean lemony aroma.
Would never pick this beer as an 8.4%ABV it tastes so light. Thye flavour is very clean with spiced citrus and a dry finish.
Really liked this, I think its one I’ll end up buying again. jfb (413), Weihenstephan, Germany Feb 4, 2009 (bottle) pours a clear golden colour with a small, foamy head. aroma of peppery, citric hop spices, honey, banana and light tropical fruits. flavour is the same, with peppery spices in the foreground and some grain. medium-bodied, with fizzy carbonation and a dry finish.
