330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Brewed by Bosteels. ABV is 8.4%. The glass fills completely by an enormous foamy head, and the golden beer below appears only slowly. Strong and attractive aroma of spices, Belgian ale yeast and some fruit. The flavour is also spicy and yeasty with some fruit, notes of white kandij sugar, but the sweetness is not too much. Moderate hops in the finish.

Pours a clear bubbly yellow into a tulip glass. The head is thick with sloppy trail lacing. Aromas are floral and tangy of yeast, citrus and barley. The flavor was bright and spicy. Notes of yeast and malts, with a nice bright citrus behind the carbonation. There is a nice bread-like undertone that provides a good backbone of flavor here. The light warmth of alcohol is very nice, and appetizing. This was a bit of a different tripel, but a satisfying one nonetheless.

Seriously refreshing taste, full of citrus and soft spices. Aroma has lemon, lime and fresh grass. A wee bit of orange and vigs. And there is the glass.. wow.. The beer just looks awesome in it’s glass. Big, huge foamy head that fills up the uppper part of the glass and stays on for quite some time. Really good beer."

Golden pour with large billowy head. Aroma of candied fruit. Taste of caramel, cloves, and banana. Had this on tap for the rating, but when I had this by bottle before I remember it being much more sweet. Very good beer either way but there was a noticeable difference between tap and bottle.

Pours a light hazy yellow with a tall, pillowy white head that is extremely dense. Aroma has sweet nose with a light tartness. Flowery notes, light bready notes, very fruity with notes of light cherry, tart apple, light pear and finishes with some light grainy notes. Flavor has a mild coriander spice to it with notes of orange, apple, light yeastiness and very light grainy notes at the tail end. Body is light, slightly crisp and a lot of carbonation provide for a very pleasurable brew. Beer is slightly sticky as a few drops got on the table and make my glass and hands pretty sticky. Overall a fantastic beer. Flavors are well balanced and compliment the nose perfectly. Fantastic mouthfeel on the beer. Alcohol is virtually not detected with all the other flavors and feelings going on in the brew.

14/05/2011 33cl bottle @ home - BB: 29/10/12 (2011-206)

Pretty cloudy dark yellow beer under a white creamy head that’s pretty stable and a little adhesive. Aroma: lots of citrus fruits and grapefruit, almost like cleaning product, lemon zest, candi sugar, bit of grains. MF: good carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: some sweet malts, citrus, sweet ripe fruits like apricot, bit of banana, grains. Aftertaste: sweet malts still, some gentle hops, bit citric.

Fairly clear light golden body with big white head. Fruity aroma, mango and light citrus, with yeast. Mildly carbonated making it smooth. Taste not as sweet as expected. A light apple like sourness first. Aftertaste has a clear alcoholic tone, almost cider (apple wine) like. Tasty beer that’s not as boring as some Belgian ales. (33cl bottle)
