On tap at Toronado in San Diego. Aromas of funky sweaty socks. Yeasty flavors common of a trippel but a little more mellow then I expected. Still nice.

Nice golden color out of the bottle with a finger-width head that is maintained by heavy carbonation. Quite a sweet, flowery aroma with a bit of honey. The flavor continues with honey along with alcohol and sour maltiness. Not a bad beer but won’t make my top 10.

What a beaut this is. About a full hand’s worth of head in my slightly wet tulip glass. Pale, slightly hazy straw colour. Some pepper, honey and malt scents, matching the taste with some citrus and yeasty dryness in the finish. Incredibly full, rich, pilllowy body, despite the fact that so much of it had transmogrified into head. Tastes like tradition in a glass -- a comfort beer. Marvelous.

Tripel Karmeliet Tarwe, Gerst, Haver Appearance: Golden yellow, clear, big fluffy head LOTS of bubbles Aroma: Sour apple, bright fruity yeast Flavor: Bit of alcohol on the back of the tongue, a fruity sour... doesn’t seem a bacteria sour though, definitely esters from high fermentation temps. A solid bitterness, very sharp and clear. Mouthfeel: Extremely carbed: per style, crisp and dry. Overall: An excellent example of the classic belgian pilsner. Very strong in flavor and evolves well as it warms.

75cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a golden yellow with one-finger white, foamy head. Reasonable head retention. Aroma is sweet, syrupy, candy sugar, yeast, and malt. An interesting grain aroma is present as well. Flavor is candy sugar, grain, syrup, and a slight spiciness at times. Very carbonated. One of the best tripel style ales we have experienced.

75 cl bottle - Golden amber color with a nice thick and large head. Aroma is very typical that of belgian triples. Lots of fruits and sweet orange marmelade. The beers maltiness dominates the flavor blended nicely with the belgian yeast created sourness and spiceness. More complexness would have pushed it up to my top 3. A beautiful beer all in all.

Pours apple golden yellow with a foaming white head. Creamy texture. Complex nose with fruits like banana, apple and peach. Sweet palate, like caramel. An excellent beer. Visited Bosteels Browerij on ’07 summer and must say everyone should get there and enjoy a bottle of Tripel Karmeliet and a Deus as we did with the Bosteels family while having a great conversation about beer, wine and food. Fantastic time with great people; Belgian hospitality. Thank you
