Pours bright golden. Very clear until the yeast comes in. Nice head that dies out kind of quickly. Smell is deliciously complex. Very fruity smelling, yeast, pears, honey, melon, candy sugar, apples, bananas, clove, other spices. Glorious!!! Taste is also pretty impressive. More fruity ala pears, melons, banana, etc....clove, coriander, candied sugar, honey, very quaint alcohol detected when I try to find it. Only 8% abv, which is low for a tripel, but very well hidden nonetheless. The low alcohol content makes this one even more drinkable than it already is due to the flavor and aroma alone. Mouthfeel is above-medium body, definitely has some body to it. Very refreshing. Finish is semi-dry.

sampled blind at "Better Know a Style: Abbey Tripel". pours clear golden with white head. nose of green apple, yeasty, windex. flavor sweet awful sprite like taste. lemony, yeasty, awful. i’ll have to re-rate this because perhaps this bottle didn’t hold up to the year of age it had on it. hated at the tasting.1.9.

8/12/08, finally a re-rate! on tap at maproom. pours clear golden with foamy white head. nose is perfumy and cloves. flavor is perfume, sweet honey and biscuit, a spicy and estery yeast finish. i can’t stand this style but i must admit this just screams quality brewing techniques.3.7.

Rating is a best of 3 tastings, as it’s always been good, but the best one gave it its chance to shine.
750ml bottle - shared by Janne - thanks! (7:4:8:4:14=3.7)
Gold, small head. Beautiful sweet fruity aroma. Very soft malty body. Some bite of alcohol and hops - tingles for quite a while. Very sophisticated. Wheat and hops in perfect balance.
Rerate of (7-4-7-4-13=3.5)
330ml bottle (Punavuoren Ahven, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks)
Very belgian - yeasty. Palate soft. Hazy light orange. Gentle hoppy taste, light grains. Little bit of almond. Some raw hops too.
Rerate of (6-3-8-3-14=3.4)
Bottle (Bon Vivant, Riga) Slightly hazy orange, thin head. Fruity esters and some toffee-like malt in the aroma. Soft succulent malty taste, alcohol carries a mellow fruity component too, and the 8.5% is very well hidden.

Bottled 33cl. 8.1 ABV. It pours a light golden beer with a big white head. Lively carbonation. A beautiful tripel. The nose is of peaches, cinnamon, mint, cloves, coriander and rosemary with a nice peppery background. Some strawberries and apples showing up too. Quite a lot of coriander, rosemary and strawberries in the taste. Full bodied. Peppery with peaches, cloves and cinnamon appearing. Slightly acidic, but in a good way. Extremely well balanced and remarkably spicy, peppery (mentioning it again deliberately), with hints of lemon and oranges. The mouthfeel is very enjoyable. Rather malty with some lovely flowery hops. A tremendously complex brew. Some berries and lime sneaking in after after a few sips. The finish is extraordinary. Peppery, yeasty, woody with an outstanding lingering fruity touch accompanied by reminiscent licorice. The quintessential tripel. This beer not only has all the qualities of a good, dry and woody tripel, but reveals a distinguished fruitiness as well. Additional comment: Wonderful indeed. The initial score remains. Third rerate (from 4.6 to 4.2): Appearance: Murky golden. Marvellous lacework. Aroma: The nose is mainly of earthy hops, grapefruit, a lot of banana, cork, raspberry and melon. Very good taste with a beautiful hop profile. Wonderfully fruity and peppery. A fine tripel. But it misses the greatness that I expected. Flawless.

Tasted at Uni Canty Staff club tasting 10/12. Cloudy golden, delecate milky thick head. Candy sugar aroma. Dry/sweet, creamy with big spanking belgian yeast flavours.

75 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy golden hue with a thick frothy white head. The aroma suggests apples, yeast, and a nice malt. The taste is great: a smooth fruity flavor most like apple. Also there is the ever present Belgian yeast, which I love. A nice malt presence and spices also. Dry and sort of fizzy mouthfeel. Really nice.
