AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Oct 26, 2007 Pours a highly carbonated clear golden shade with a massive thick head, that actually grew as it sat in the glass! That was really the only negative to this refreshing, extremely drinkable beer. Fruity, a touch sweet, and clean with a subtly spice finish. Almost zero hint of alcohol. Great warm weather beer for our Indian Summer here in NorCal. Very nice. pineypower (1076), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2007 Pours out a nice golden/straw color, slightly hazy with a moderate fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast, spice ans slight alcohol. Nice mouthfeel, and very well balanced. Yeast, spice, lemon zest, hop and slight lingering grainy taste. Very complex and well done. Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 23, 2007 Updated: May 9, 2008Flaske. Næsten synd ovenpå Struise Mikkeller, men stadig en fantastisk øl. Klassisk trippel med en tilpas mængde alkohol og humle til at balancere sødmen. En anelse parfumeret i duften, men ikke så meget at det bliver for meget. Rigtig flot øl. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Oct 21, 2007 Initially the aroma was mostly skunk which I feared due to the green bottle but that passed and left a sweet aroma of bubble gum and spice. The tall spritzy head dissipates down to a thin layer of cloud on top of the golden body. Flavor is mostly sweet and spicy with a light, carbonated palate. Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Oct 21, 2007 Golden orange with light head. Wonderful spicy aroma with a hint of allspice. Slight alcohol flavor, hints of raisins, cloves and lemons. Absolutely delicious. Indeed a very nice belgium tripel. cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Oct 20, 2007 Beautiful golden pour with nice lasting head. Deep and layered scents emerge, including yeasty aromas coupled with hearty doses of spice, fruit and flowers. The sugary body is well balnced by a wide array of well implemented spices and hops which gives a depth and layered quality to the brew. The hops did not give it an abrupt crispness but gave a rather syrupy sugared edge. There is a light touch of alcohol in the finish but it is well integrated into the whole of the brew. A very well executed tripel. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Oct 19, 2007 Bottle, 33cl. I always thought I had rated this one, as I have been drinking it on several occasions, but finally... When opening the bottle, the beer immediately volcanoed out of the bottle, and leaving so much foam in the glass that it soon flooded. The head soon stabilized and diminished, leaving just a little white lid of bubbles on top of the hazy, orange body. There’s a good deal of floaties in it as well. The aroma is lovely fruity, with citrus and some banana, pale malt, cloves and other spices. It is a bit gazzy in the mouth, but it is a full-bodied beer with a good deal of sweetness. The flavor is just lovely, sweet and fruity, with a nice hoppy bitterness in the back of your mouth, as well as coriander and alcohol. Despite all the sweetness, it finishes rather dry. It is a quite warming beer and really lovely, and it irritates me a lot that so much of the bottle ended up on my dining table. (071019) papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Oct 17, 2007 Bottle from BC liquor store Burnaby: Pale straw color with a hugh fluffy eggshell white head. Aroma is spicy and peppery. Flavor starts sweet and fruity (apricot) followed by spice (pepper, corriander, clove) and a lightly bitter dry finish. Light-medium bodied and spritzy with lively carbonation.
