papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA Oct 17, 2007 Bottle from BC liquor store Burnaby: Pale straw color with a hugh fluffy eggshell white head. Aroma is spicy and peppery. Flavor starts sweet and fruity (apricot) followed by spice (pepper, corriander, clove) and a lightly bitter dry finish. Light-medium bodied and spritzy with lively carbonation. agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 14, 2007 On draft at Flat Rock Saloon. Poured clear orangish with virtually no head at all. Weak carbonation. Flavor of cheap candy sugars. Alcohol not evident at all. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Oct 10, 2007 Bottle, pours a bit cloudy with a large frothy white head. A touch of skunk do to the green bottle, some nice grains, a bit of citrus but not too fruity or yeasty in the nose. Quite carbonated, a bit of esters, some light malts no hops a bit of fruit and a touch of citrus. Pretty good, especially for a triple which I am not usually a big fan of but this one was nice. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear golden body with huge head. aroma is of spices, bread. Falvor is of yeast, spices, bready and light figs and prunes. Quaffable but a little too hot at times. Ansset13 (127), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA Oct 7, 2007 Golden straw pour, slight haze with nice head. nose is of belgian yeast, and almost peach like fruit. the flavor is lightly fruity up front, with a touch of alcohol as well. A well carbonated beer with rich palate to match the flavor. Overall the beer is complex enough to satisfy experts, while inviting enough to be a great intro to its style. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Oct 5, 2007 A deep golden pour with a large white head. An aroma of dusty belgian yeast and a hint of fruit. An almost apply flavor comes to the front. A light hint of abv is there as well. Carbonation is as expected the palate is very solid a rich creamy texture to match the flavor. A very special beer. bboeckl (133), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Oct 2, 2007 Golden, thick white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty. Not a moldy damp basement-type aroma but rather that of a dusty chalkboard. Let’s take attendance: Carmel--present, Fruit--present, balance--present, complexity--present. But, life is too short to spend in a chalky classroom learning lessons... For all the technical brew-master pencil pushing proficiency that was put into making this fermented malt beverage, there is something more. This beer speaks of bright sunny days, cheerful green meadows, freedom, childhood, friends, and yes, love. I would buy this beer again and again and again. Unfortunately, I would have to keep flying to Belgian so this bottle I am drinking now maybe the only bottle I ever have. For those of you who have just uncapped a fresh one. Savor the moment because nothing last forever! RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2007 Aroma is a sweet fruity yeast scent. Color is a hazy golden yellow with very good carbonation and a very big, very thick, tight, white head. Taste sweet and fruity. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a foamy feel. Finish comes in with a mild malt flavor that is backed by a sweet fruity yeast taste. There is a mellow bitterness on the end and the yeast flavor lingers a bit with a faint alcohol feel. This is a great Belgian Ale.
