I tried this beer on September 14, 2007 at ’The Beer Bistro’ in Toronto. The beer poured a hazy gold colour with a large fluffy white head that lingered throughout. A high amount of effervescent could be seen. The aroma was surprisingly hoppy and perfumey and had floral tones. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with high carbonation. The flavour was malty with some citrus hints. RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Sep 16, 2007 As I uncaged this baby, there was an explosion, as the cork shot up at the ceiling and almost took off my head. A small gushing ensued...but I took care of it. I poured it into a trappist glass to reveal a perfect golden color with a huge white, frothy head. The head stayed the whole time. The scent was of cloves, malt, strawberries, gum, yeast and spice. A perfect play on the palate with a complex taste and mouthfeel. One of the best tripels I have tasted. Clear sparkling golden with a fine dense white head. Aroma is very soft malty and powerfull fruity along with spicey wheat. Flavor is broad aswell. First stickey sweet, then turns into a nice mix between fruity sweetness, warming alchohol, nuts and grain. Very complex and balanced. verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 13, 2007 Pours a cloudy yellow with a foamy, lasting head. Aroma is fruity and sweet with bananas. Flavor is bananas, bubble gum, and a brief spice kick. Very good tripel. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Sep 11, 2007 Nov. 2005 - This was highly enjoyable. Poured with beautiful head (not huge but pretty) that quickly diminished to a layer of bubbles which hung around the entire experience. I liked moving it around and watching the bubbles cling to the glass. The nose on this is yeasty/grassy. Mouthfeel was carbonated, light and crips. The flavor was sweet and fruity with a nice peppery spiciness with a little hop bite on the backend. I need to have Chimay, Maredsous and this side by side. What fun! clevelanddave (1), brooklyn, New York, USA does not count Sep 11, 2007 one of my faviorite beers, abby ale perfection, its not heady, instead a champagne-esque carbination, fruity overtones, and a sneaky, non-overly acholic high gravity BritAlesRule (84), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 11, 2007 Cloudy damp straw. Little to no head. Spicy coriander-orange nose. Tangy citrusy mouthfeel with tiny bubbles sizzling on the tongue. Explodes with a robust fruitiness which lingers. Will try again. nihar (68), Ohio, USA Sep 9, 2007 Pours dark golden with a very light head that persists... aroma is very fruity with hints of citrus and some malt... taste is definitely citrus with a caramel finish... texture is very smooth and foamy..
