BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Aug 8, 2007 If you have "problems" with triples, then try thisone. It’s just great and complex with very nice notes in both flavor and aroma ~ a beginners triple and then it’s highrated. Strange and great.
Notes of alcohol, caramel, malt, softness, grapes, flowers, coriander and must much more that I cannot find words for. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA Aug 3, 2007 11.2oz Bottle

Tripel Karmeliet pours a surprisingly clear straw golden with hints of orange around the edges. Numerous big carbonation bubbles rise from every surface of the glass. 1+ finger pure white head formed on the pour and stayed right where it’s at. Each sip left thick drink lines. World class looking brew.
The aroma is mouthwatering. It’s light and subtle but hugely complex. Candi sugar leads the way but is eased aside by mounds of golden fruits. Pear, apple skins and golden raisins. Lightly toasted malts hide in the background along with a hint of the wheat used to brew. Spicy alcohol presence really livens things up. Wonderful aroma!
The flavor goes hand in hand with the aroma. Pears, apples, the golden raisins again, and apricot. When I smell and drink this tripel all I can think of is a basket of this freshly picked fruit gleaming in the sunlight. Funny? I know, but true. Perfect candi sugar sweetness with a subtle spicy alcohol to really open things up.
Body is on the lighter side of medium and becomes creamy and airy when it hits the tongue. Massaging carbonation.
This is a beer I could drink all day long which is something I can’t say about a lot of Belgians. The glass in front of me is disappearing far to quickly.
I’m not the most expierenced with tripels but I’ve sampled a fair amount and so far this is the top of the line for me. World class beer that is easy to find. This will be in my fridge from now on.
7/22/07 daniele (1642), Italy Aug 3, 2007 biondo carico buona schiuma non moplto persistente aromi di cerali e fruttati morbida particoloare shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2007 7/11/2007: Tripel Karmeliet is clear, golden yellow in color. The initial head is creamy and off-white and slowly collapses to leave a lasting crown. The carbonation level is mild and soft. There is a nice maltiness to the nose along with a hint of sweetness and spice. The flavor is soft with a nice balance of malt, fruits, and spice. It isn’t too sweet, too spicy, or too alcoholic (astringent) tasting. The body is medium-full and smooth. There is an obvious weight and creaminess to this beer from the oats. I was introduced to Tripel Karmeliet by Peanut at the Dilly Deli and Mariemont, Ohio. This is probably one of the best Tripel beers that I have had yet and is now me new benchmark Tripel. In a word, this beer is delicious!
Draught (8,1% by Vol.) at the Dilly Deli. Rating #841 for this beer...
Lowe1983 (1029), Fairborn, Ohio, USA Aug 2, 2007 Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is sour with banana, citrus, lemon, slight candied sugar, and some spices. Pretty light on the palate. Flavor starts off with the banana, lemon, and citrus. Finishes sweet with the candied sugar and spices. Has a decent lingering acidic flavor. Very delicious. Lynnathon (2), London, England does not count Jul 30, 2007 didn’t like this beer at all, it was very sweet and had a strange after taste. brewblackhole (1367), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Jul 30, 2007 Aroma was primarily musty yeast and citrus fruit. I also had the impression that there was a skunkiness involved, might be an older bottle. Taste didn’t reflect to much skunk, candy sugar sweet with some spices and a slight musty aftertaste. not sure this was a prpoerfly cared for bottle, may have to rerate joaobb (5), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil does not count Jul 29, 2007 Pours a hazy gold, big soapy head collapses quickly. Smells spicier than it tastes. Strong alcohol taste is balanced by a spicy kick with late clove taste setting in. Good mouthfeel, seems substantial, probably due to the spicy alcohol taste. My first encounter with this type of beer has definitively been very very good.
