hayduke (1619), Eureka, California, USA Aug 23, 2009 From a 750 ml corked and caged bottle purchased from Paul’ Grocery in McCall, ID, this poured a cloudy apricot color with a big long lasting off-white head and very serious lacing rings. The nose is of ripe fruit with apricot dominating. Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Flavor is very complex with ripe fruit, caramel, spices, and citrus. An exceptional beer. dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 22, 2009 330 mL bottle from Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, VA. Pours a hazy peach color with lots of carbonation visible and a few very small white floaties. Large head with good head retention and lacing. Bready, yeasty aroma with light fruity notes. Taste is bread, caramel, spice, light fruit and nutty notes. Full bodied. Slight alcohol warmth. Good beer. BeerChaser0078 (284), Melbourne, Australia Aug 18, 2009 Bottle. This is one of the best tripels I’ve ever had. Pours dark gold with a fluffy white head that is short lived. Aroma features a bit of caramel and - I think - spongecake? Honey comes through strongly in the flavour as well as malt, caramel and a touch of heather. This is a smooth, full bodied beer that has just the right amount of sweetness. Great stuff. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2009 Fantastic! Delicious and surprisingly smooth and mellow... every lover of Belgians should probably seek this out. BroSpud (583), , Massachusetts, USA Aug 17, 2009 Julio’s Belgian Beer Festival. Sample. This was one of the highlights for me of the festival. Very impressed with this tripel. One of the few I really liked. While it has all the characteristics of a typical belgian triple this one was unique. Predominent taste I remember was lemon. Will be buying more of this. DeeBee21 (44), NH, New Hampshire, USA Aug 16, 2009 Golden orangish poor, Big fuzzy white head that disaptes very quickly. Aroma is a bit lemon zest, ripe bannans, bit of floral. Flavor is still a bit bannas at front, very effervescent and yeasty in the middle finished a bit dry. Overall very nice. Jblauvs (530), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Aug 16, 2009 Golden pour, fizzy offwhite head. yeasty, tart strawberry, malty, very complex. medium mouthfeel, sweet dried fruit upfront with some tickle of carbonation. middle is sticky malt and it finishes sweet and a bit spicy. Great beernovice39 (240), South Carolina, USA Aug 12, 2009 My wife says dead girl is spot on but that she caught some apricot in there as well. I agree with the wife that its a pretty beer to behold in the glass and it has a unique taste for a tripel (still I don’t like it) and she enjoyed it alot! The rating is all hers...
