50/50 mix of draught and bottle @ Bishops Arms: Örebro on November 26. Got my glass filled up from a bottle since the keg ran out. Pours hazy yellow with a huge white head that slowly dissipates leaves some trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, spicy and very floral with some dandelion, cilantro, plums, peaches and yeast. Taste is sweet, floral and fruity with lots of esters and spice dominating the palette. Very nice!

pale yellow with a frothy white head and a sweet, fruity aroma. taste is really well balanced, smooth, sweet, spicy and fruity. there is a high carbonation, and a long interesting finish. a hint of bitterness tops everything off. very nice tripel.

This was 8.2-8.6% ABV, certainly nor the 8% listed. Caramel, wheat, alcohol. Gold body. Large white head. Bitter with a sweet finish. Some harsh alcoholic burn.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a large soapy white head that dissipates to a soapy film. Aroma is bright citrus lemon and rind with a bready yeast all around. Taste is biscuit and lemon pepper and orange peel and a peppery bitterness. Palate is thin to medium feel with plenty of carbonation and finishes crisp and dry.

750ml bottle, shared with my family before Thanksgiving dinner. I wanted to expand their craft beer palates, and I asked the guy working at Dutch’s for a good Belgian. He said everyone he knows that’s sampled this beer has enjoyed it. I was not disappointed. Pale, only mildly hazy yellow color (the last pour was much more hazy). HUGE foamy head, takes up the majority of the tall, skinny glasses we served this in.. Splotches of lace, naturally. Almost no carbonation at all, very smooth and creamy texture. Wheat backbone, but wonderfully fruity and estery. Spicy, but not overspiced... The whole thing is very balanced, everything about it. Sort of a sweet taste, maybe some savory balanced with the perfect amount of spice... it’s a complex taste, with a soft, round zest. Really nice and interesting.

Most tripels are too sweet but this beer is perfectly balanced. There’s a bit of lemon and floral flavors that would be more indicative of a farmhouse. Great beer for this style.

Fruity and sweet taste and aroma. Straw color with big head. It’s a special beer. As with all trappist beers (in my opinion) it goes well with meats and cheeses...

Stunning Abbey Tripel I picked up at the local store. Beautiful straw colour with strong aromas of bananas, citrus. It is very smooth to drink and the fruit carries through in spades, with medium carbonation. I really didn’t want it to end but always leave wanting more.
I look forward to my next encounter.
