Now this is what a tripel is all about. Man, what a great beer. Suprised at how easy the 750ml bottle went down with me and my brother. If there was anything to be nitpicky about this this beer, it was the sludgey chunks at the bottom. Man that stuff looked like it belonged at the bottom of the Okeefanokee Swamp. But with some cafeful decantation, that sludge stayed where it was supposed to stay.
The beer pours out a beautiful honey golden color with a big bright head with slow dissipation. Aroma of honey, apple juice, cloves, dust, roses, even some slight pepperyness to it. I could go on smelling this for a long time and continue to find new aromas. Mouthfeel is near perfect, not overly carbonated, but just right. Slight stickyness to it. Flavors were just as complext as the aroma. Grassy, yeasty, light fruits, cotton candy, pepper, vanilla, and floral. The alcohol reveals itself with a final nip towards the end and it finishes on a high note."

This beer was consumed to celebrate the completion of my ethics term paper. My anticipation of this beer has been building for hours. Best before 4/11/06.
Pours golden with the biggest foamy white head I’ve ever witnessed. Aroma of delicate fruity esters: honey, flowers, citrus, peaches, and alcohol. Taste is a slow fade from lightly sweet to lightly dry. Alcohol is noticable, but well balanced by spicy yeast.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with lush carbonation. The alcohol and slightly dry finish make this beer feel especially light-bodied. This is certainly one of the world’s greatest beers.

Nice amber color, medium sized white head that lasted for a decent amount of time then faded to a small lace. The aroma was citrusy and floral with maybe a spicy note to it.The flavor was fantastic, nicely fruity with a decent malt side light caramel and spicy with some sweet and light sour notes coming on as the brew warms. The finish is and fruity.Very nice brew with that manages to stya fairly well balanced and flavorful with the alcohol being there but not in a over powering amount.Well worth trying again.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2006 I’m not sure what up w/ the my original rating of this stuff. It just seems dumb and though I’m not exactly drinking one of these right at this moment there is one thing I’d like to add: What really makes this stand out is the huge spicy, sweet orangey nose.
Original rating: Sampled on tap at the Map Room, this is without a doubt one of the finest tripels I ever had. I spent more time drinking it than I did rating... Just beautiful golden in appearance, big head. Rich, complex flavor with the most thick delicious mouthfeel I can imagine. Cheers!
