COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
First brewed 1996; claimed to be based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley.
Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.

Bottle at Singapore Beerfest 2010. One of my favourite beers in the world. Golden brown in colour, medium head, medium carbonation. Aroma: Ester, summer, fruit. Taste Notes: Malt, biscuits, banana, citrus, caramel. Rich mouthfeel, deceptively alcoholic but superbly balanced (You’ll drink about four of these because of the unbelievable flavour before the alcohol kicks in). Beautifully crafted beer.

On tap. Pours a clear golden with a white head. Bubble gum and clove yeasty aroma. Yeasty bubble gum and clove flavor as well, with an overall herbal flavor to it, and a touch of honey biscuit. Quite a great tripel, as it happens.

The head on this is super foamy and big, had to wait for few minutes before drinking. Got that tripel aroma as soon as i started pouring, lots of flowers, banana, apple and pepper. It’s really a fresh taste to it, sweet upfront but ends dry. Low bitterness.

Robe blonde paille, un peu trouble, un peu blondasse.

0,75l Bottle, Beerlovers Vienna. Intensive wheat, banana, fruity aroma. Golden color with a mild head, not too clear. Very well carbonated. Taste of malt, wheat also present, bit sour and bitter at the end. Carbonation disappears slowly.

Robe blonde et limpide. Arômes fruits jaunes, banane haribo, épices. Idem en bouche avec des notes maltées qui tiennent en bouche. Texture sirupeuse. Particulier mais j’aime bien.
