Aroma is full of yeast and sweet malts, and some dark fruits. It’s appearance is golden color, with a light head. It’s flavor is full of medium-dark malts, some sweetness, and sweet fruit. It’s a bit to sweet, but otherwise a fine brew.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ContemplateBeer (1176) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAY 3, 2009
Classic Belgian yeast, clover like and a light hop floral aroma. Color was golden, with a creamy low carbonation head. Flavor had mostly clover, with some ripe apple and perhaps even pineapple. Palate was creamy with a light alcohol tinge at the finish. Good stuff, but not spectacular.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 savnac (2126) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 25, 2009
On tap. Yeasty earthy aroma. Light gold with barely a head. The flavor is sweet and sour with a typical Belgian yeasty flavor. Hints of fruit and spice round out the complex flavor. Medium to light bodied with an average carbonation. A very good Tripel that is incredible light and smooth for its alcohol content.

Bottle at The Libertijn, Den Haag. Poured a clear yellow straw colour with a thin white long lasting head and broken lace. The aroma is strong Belgian yeast and alcohol. The flavour is yeast, malt and alcohol bitterness. It's surprisingly smooth though given the alcohol content. One of my favourites!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 tfredvik (648) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 7, 2013
Pours a golden hazy body with a large, white head that initially looks rather creamy, but then the tiny bubbles start to merge and creates a big-bubbled very long-lived bath foam that clings well to the glass. The aroma is strong and has a more obvious malty profile than many other beers of this style. It still has plenty of yeast, spices and fruit, but the sweet caramel malty stuff makes the aroma even more complex than the average tripel. There are also some pleasant vanilla notes and some citric hints. The taste is light sweet, light acidic and it has a long-lasting moderate bitter with a bit too much alcohol. The alcohol is rather stingy, aggressive and solvent-like. Still, the flavours are pleasant and quite strong, with fruits, banana, spices, yeast, citrus, vanilla and again this extra layer of malty sweetness. Dry, smooth and pleasant mouthfeel with a lively carbonation and medium body. A very nice ale, but I expected more from the Best Tripel In The World™, or maybe I just wasn’t in the triple mood this evening? I guess I should try it again soon.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BenH (1376) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 3, 2012
Bottle. Golden yellow with a nice white head. Big apricot aroma, some citrus, light yeast esters and slightly metallic in the background. Tastes a bit different to the aroma, yeast more prominent but still quite fruity and slightly resinous. Crisp and dry. Pretty nice but i prefer the American interpretation of this style

Date: July 30, 2011 Mode: Bottle Source: Lucia’s, St. Paul, MN Appearance: Orangish gold with large amount of head. Aroma: Citrus and yeast. Flavor: Consistent with aroma, little bit of alcohol, slight carbonation. Other: After the La Trappe Quad, this was kind of a let down, a good beer but just did not do much for me.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Syzzer (454) - Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2013
This beer has great mouthfeel/texture. The medium-heavy body is evident from the oat/wheat/barley ingredients. Slight amber haze to the hay-yellow color. The head is thick & creamy. These are all exceptional aspects- but when it comes to aroma and flavor- not so much. Aroma: a malty hard apple cider. And the aspect of flavor: alcoholic cider w/bitter flash. 8.65BD

Translucent honey golden colour; Lovely, long lasting big head with off-white foams and very frothy; Oily with very good lacing and very fizzy throughout; Aroma of banana, caramel, light bread and clove. Medium to full body; Pretty strong sweet taste reminiscent of Leffe Blonde, perhaps more so, then followed by subtle caramel and vanilla. Fairly smooth and quite creamy to mouth; Alcoholic character is present but well hidden; Hop presence comes with a mild and brief spike as a finish. The 8.4% abv work up very gradually and is very enjoyable, standard to any good Tripel, with no bad knocks or sudden attack throughout. Slightly dry after taste.
Comments: it has the look and some of the taste of Leffe Blonde, yet it’s stronger in abv, a well-managed alcoholic character at the expense of smell and taste - yes, it’s rather monotonous compare to the highly aromatic Leffe BIonde and the tasty Chimay White and Leffe Brune - yet its oat-boosted smoothness make up a lot of ground in palate. It’s a winner without a doubt, a close second to Chimay White, if only the taste can be further improved.
